A working organic market garden/lifestyle block in the Ida Valley, stunning scenery, Lord of the Rings location for Rohan. 2 Hours from Queenstown or Wanaka, for skiing. Bit quirky, peaceful, lots of pets, horse riding, fishing, Lord of the Rings tour and home cooked meals all available upon request. Very REAL! Not flash, our pet sheep, horses and cow love cuddles. So do the dog and cats. Plenty of lovely cafes, pubs and wineries in the area!

Gilly and Lon were welcoming hosts. Gilly is happy to provide meals. The atmosphere was very informal. The room was basic and clean. This is an experience of rural Kiwi life. sharing in the day to day life of the family and animals. Loved the pet lamb. On our last night we enjoye…

I only stayed one night in this endearingly quirky little place but I'm so glad I did! The accommodation is basic but sufficient - everything was clean and comfortable. The real charm lies in the curious collection of animals - including a pet sheep - and the welcoming hosts. Wit…

This is a great location, with beautiful places to visit all around. Gilly and Lon were lovely hosts. Everything was clean and comfortable. Bear in mind that it's a working farm and you are sharing the house with the family. A great base to explore the surrounding area but import…

The LHontheP is very welcoming. The room and other amenities are 'as they say on the tin' but for that it was very cosy with the wood burning stove keeping the whole house toasty right through some pretty nippy nights/days. Loved the horse riding up into the Raggedy Ranges too.

Thanks Arthur, will take all into consideration. IN fact we do have a plug board under the bed somewhere, so I must have been remiss in showing it to you eeek! Its an old house and plugs are sparce, bane of my life but other than totally rewiring its what we are stuck with. We are kind of stuck between old world charm with no modern amenities and the new world where everyone expects wifi and such. You are in fact the first people to stay since we actually had wifi, though it still goes off if the wetaher is bad. My only comment would be to other visitors...we are in the sticks, and that is what is special about here. If you want and need 'modern' it really isn't the place for you. Please READ OUR PROFILE we are totally honest in our description of what we offer here. Scenery to die for, peace and quiet, madness and mayhem with our pets, beautiful horse treks into Rohan country, plus Lon and me....eccentric individuals with lots of stories to tell. Nothing fancy!!! We enjoyed your company Arthur, great to talk about life and love and all who sail in her. This is whats special for us. hugs xx
