Interaction with guests
If necessary, I will give you all the contacts and useful addresses to rent a car, do your shopping, wash your clothes, discover the wonders of the surroundings. You will find everything you need for your stay on site.
But to facilitate your arrivals and departures, equip yourself with sheets or sleeping bag, flashlight, batteries, toilet paper, basic food products (oil, flour, sugar, ground coffee, pasta, sardines, honey ...) And elaborated (your favorite treats).
You will find fruits and vegetables from seasons easily while traveling around but little trade as you hear. Reed remains the place where to find cash and international foodstuffs. A converter 220v (EUR) and USB equips the bungalow and kitchen, you can recharge your phone, tablet or laptop.
Internet access is available at the RiverSide Restaurant in Citrus Creek near the main road (20 to 25 mins walk by the river).
Other things to note
This wilderness site is located 1.5 km from the main road, it took almost 4 years to build it in its current version ... All the necessary to modern life has been installed: solar electricity, water, Gas, toilet, kitchen, living room, bedroom, camp bed, hammocks. 8 people can live there (12 a little more cramped), and more in camping near the river (tent 3 places available).
The planting of the garden in permaculture began in 2016. You will be able to learn the virtues of the plants and to nourish you with fresh products when the season is propitious ... 2017 is bamboo
In the corner you will meet Hilari farmer and cow breeder. But also Afrika, Melody or Joel Rastas of Zion and fantastic guides of the surroundings and the wild life (do not be shocked by their attitude or their appearance. Rastas hunters, gatherers, they have a completely different culture than ours).
Discover with them how to live and enjoy the Zion in harmony. Taste a fresh coconut in the morning, make your oil, sugar, learn how to handle the machete, identify edible plants, make a shelter, hunt crabs, make a fire and dine with a River Zion Pot ... You challenge them on the activity you like ...
Make your vacation a learning experience of Nature !!
The amount of your payment is used to maintain the 4x4 (almost 2000 € of annual fees), & to finance the MIZ projects (go to our website - Made in Zion point Org - to discover and add yours to them ...)
Offer your guide 60 XCD$ (island minimal local wage) as a thank you;)
A fair remuneration would be rather 60 US$. But to avoid pushing them to alcohol consumption or financial waste (the hunter picker rather cicadas mismanages capitalism!). We introduced the LOVE as a currency to reconcile the solidarity economy with the monetary syst em.
You can transfer your donations to our organization to help a project come to fruition, to help your local guides to save and to take the hard blows often encountered during the rainy season.
Remember that we imposed trade and money on them ...
If they seem too invasive, do not hesitate to ask them politely to leave you alone.
DON'T FORGET TO GET CASH IN ROSEAU ATM.
No ATMs on Island elsewhere!!
This autonomous natural site is fragile, please respect the place, plants, animals and people you will meet.
Please keep the place clean, bring out your non disposable trash, clean laundry you may have borrowed. Un visiting this place you are participating in a project of sustainable tropical living. Where we are going to practice and share technics and knowledge that gives autonomous modern life in wild tropical area. Thanks. One love.
