Nestled between the Blue Ridge Pky and the Smoky Mtn Nat'l Park, life on the farm is truly heaven! The views from your private porch and the genuine mountain hospitality found in this comfy cabin under an ancient hemlock tree all wait ~ just for you!

The space

We offer a cottage styled cabin with a deep covered porch . The cabin is one large room with a separate full bath and a fully equipped kitchen ~ all on a beautiful 50 acre hobby farm in a breath-taking setting. A bold creek runs through the property with a gazebo nestled on the bank complete with hammock and swing. There is also a well- marked nature walk through the property and the grounds offer numerous swings, picnic areas, and a collection of Old MacDonald's friendly farm animals. Amenities include WIFI , linen service, and a coffee pot with plenty of coffee! Forget something? Please feel free to ask and we will probably be able to help out! (Hair dryer, tooth paste, et al.)
This is a working farm and guests are encouraged to ask questions, enjoy the beauty of the pasture from their private porch and enjoy a lifestyle that has mostly passed from the 21st century. Your hosts live in the adjacent farm house but your space is completely private. We are available to help you in anyway we can be of service or leave you completely to your own special adventures.
Because we live on an active farm and have multiple animals and pets, we cannot accept any pets.
*It is important to know that this space is not handicapped accessible because there are stairs required to reach the cabin (not in the cabin) and the terrain of the farm reflects the mountain topography.

Guest access

Guests have their own abode with stated amenities and privacy. As your hosts we are respectful of your privacy, but available for advice, conversation and activity suggestions. Gobbler's Moon property is open to guests and includes the gazebo, multiple swings with scenic views, a nature trail, and complete access to our creek.

As your hosts we are more than happy to assist our guests in any way that we are equipped to do so.

Staying at Gobbler's Moon has been the highlight of our trip to the States. We can't wait to come back and spend more time with Gail and Calvin as well as explore this beautiful part of the world. This cosy cabin was the perfect place to stay and explore the Great smokey mountains. Calvin and Gail were fantastic hosts who looked after us so well and made us feel at home. Their farm was beautiful and a great place to relax after a day exploring either by sitting on one of the swings set around the property or getting to know the animals, especially Dixie the dog and Bandit the Cat. We also saw our first ever hummingbird whilst on the porch which we were very excited by! Thank you for all the special touches and for making our trip so memorable.

Staying at Gobbler's moon exceeded our expectations and was the perfect beginning to our road trip. We couldn't have asked for more warm, friendly accomodating hosts! On our first day there Calvin gave us an unforgettable experience rounding up the cows much to our delight and amusement! Gail was so kind and passionate about sharing her knowledge of the local area; and treated us to some home-baked cookies and snacks for the road; just lovely! There are many great places to admire the stunning views that surround the farm, plenty of swings to sit on and take in the country air. This place is truly magical, made even better by the Calvin and Gail's kind-hearts and the whole host of animals we wanted to take away with us, namely Dixie the dog, Bandit the cat and Beyonce and Aretha; the two mohawked ducks who never failed to make us giggle! We definitely hope to visit again in the future!

This is a beautiful place, lovingly decorated and with everything you need. We really enjoyed our stay and Calvin and Gail were great hosts - friendly and helpful. We chose Gobbler's Moon over other places we had looked at on the website because we liked the sound of staying on a little farm and it definitely lived up to our expectations! The animals are great and we even had fresh eggs for breakfast.

Calvin and Gail were the most delightful hosts. We stayed at gobblers moon as part of our honeymoon earlier this month. Their home is beautiful and the cabin is so cute and cosy, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean! We arrived late and Gail was concerned that we hadn't eaten so brought us some food to eat, which was very thoughtful of her. She gave us great advice on where to go in the area and what to do, and they both showed us around their farm during which we were able to feed wild turkeys and their horses! If you are in this area, be sure to stop at gobblers moon!

What a wonderful place. The cabin in beautiful and is only slightly outdone by the surrounding natural beauty of the farm and mountains! And oooh...the stars at night! Gail and Calvin could not be better hosts. Entered as strangers, left as friends :)

Whether you are looking for a peaceful retreat to unplug, unwind, rest and relax or a home base centrally located in western NC to make day trips to a myriad of small WNC towns, Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge TN, or Helen GA, Gobblers Moon will not disappoint. The quaint cozy cabin is very clean and has everything you need and the large private porch with rocking chairs and hammock is the perfect spot for morning coffee, lazy afternoons, or a quiet evening. The farm includes beautiful views of the mountains, a screened in gazebo with 2-person hammock, many swings placed to take advantage of the various sights, horses, cows, chickens, geese, wild turkeys, dogs and cats. Hosts Calvin and Gail welcomed us like family and let us know they were there if we needed anything. They made recommendations on places to visit and eat, as well as area events taking place over the weekend. The cabin is both secluded and a close drive to restaurants, shopping, etc. My husband and I are already talking about a return visit.

We had the most enjoyable time on the farm. From sitting in the many strategically located swings and hanging in the hammocks to mingling with and hand-feeding the horses, cows, and chickens, we were able to be carefree and re-energize. The information they shared with us prior to our arrival and while we were there (eating places, things to do and see, local favorites, etc.) helped us make great use of our time and were greatly appreciated. The beautiful scenery and their superior hospitality will have us choosing Gobbler's Moon as our resting place every time we visit the area! Calvin and Gail have gone all out to make sure their guests leave relaxed and stress-free.
