Where you’ll be

Dormston, Worcestershire, United Kingdom

Dormston is a delightful hamlet set in the heart of the gently rolling Worcestershire countryside not far from the border with Warwickshire and laying between the Cathedral City of Worcester and Shakespeare's Stratford on Avon. The nearby village of Inkberrow is said to be the inspiration for Ambridge in the long running radio classic “The Archers”, along with its pub also “”The Bull”, and where “Archers” memorabilia photos adorn the walls and show Moat Farm with cast members outside being used as a backdrop to depict Brookfield Farm.
In the immediate vicinity are a number of fine pubs offering everything from simple snacks to gastro dining. Newspapers, and groceries are less than 1 mile away in a convenience store, and for the keen cook, gastronomic supplies are available from the award winning Hillers Farm Shop around 10 minutes drive away.

Peter and I love entertaining here at Moat Farm. We often have friends come visit us from London and this place is something of a country retreat., although we usually spend more time eating and drinking than being active! Dovecote Barn was converted from an agricultural building when we first moved here around 15 years ago. In fact Peter and I, and our kids Alex & James all lived in the Barn for over a year while Moat Farm was restored. Now Alex & James are away in Bristol & London, and we have too much space and land to ourselves. So it suits us to make Dovecote Barn available to guests, so someone else can enjoy the tranquil setting, country air, and attractions around. And your contribution helps us to maintain and run the house. You may also see Peter tinkering with a collection of slow elderly vehicles - an old ex military Land Rover, a Citroen 2CV, a Massey Ferguson 135 tractor, and a Fordson Dexta. We tend to keep them going with summer runs to the pub.
We always respect the privacy of our guests in Dovecote Barn, and you have the run of the 13 acres of meadow and grounds here at Moat Farm. But we are of course on hand to assist with any problems, or to help you with anything that will help you enjoy your stay here. For a small additional charge we can pick guests up from local stations, and take you out and collect you from local restaurants and pubs. More than anything we want you to enjoy your stay, and return, and tell your friends about Dovecote Barn.
