About this listing

Casita de las Estrellas-The epitome of the charming, authentic casita that everyone looks for when visiting Santa Fe, located within a 10-15 min. (.7 mile) walk of old Santa Fe's picturesque plaza. Private flagstone patio/garden. Off-street parking.

The space

Kiva fireplace in livingroom. The casita is very secluded and quiet, featuring authentic hand-painted Mexican tile and coved ceilings with original vigas, furnished with hand-carved southwestern style furniture. The bedroom features fine linens for a wonderful night's sleep. There is a shower only. Casita de las Estrellas features a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room area. The sunny atmosphere is the result of skylights throughout. Tastefully decorated with attractive artwork and hand-woven rugs. Off-street parking available as well as laundry facilities. Upon your arrival, you will find all the ingredients for a continental breakfast! The casita is maintained with care and pride.

Wi-Fi, satellite TV with HBO, stereo with IPod dock

Cooling: The casita does not have central air conditioning. We have provided a portable air conditioner and fans for the summer months if people want to use them. The casita is the original adobe construction which has been used in New Mexico for centuries. The adobe walls keep the casitas cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The only kind of air conditioning that I could put in these historic buildings would be window units and I refuse to do that as they can be quite noisy and unsightly. In addition, in Santa Fe, the nights are about 25-30 degrees cooler than the days, so we do not have hot summer nights.

Long-Term Owners: My husband and I bought this property more than 15 years ago. I love owning the property and knowing the people who come back year after year. We have lived in Santa Fe for over thirteen years and live a little bit outside of the city limits. We have a 19-year-old son, two collies and a cat.

The place was so cozy and so central to the heart of Santa Fe. Clean, well-stocked, and the perfect place to settle in and see all Santa Fe has to offer. Leave the car parked and walk to it all. I stayed 10 days and could have stayed 10 more. I would highly recommend a stay in Roxanne's cozy casita!

We stayed for six weeks at Casita de las Estrellas and we couldn't have been happier. The casita is well-appointed with all the kitchen items one would need for such a long stay. Wi-fi and cable TV are of course provided. The location was perfect, as we didn't have a car, and didn't really need one, except for the occasional trip outside Santa Fe. All the sights of the city are within walking distance - g the Plaza, the Railyard, the Farmers Market, and great restaurants. We could also walk to groceries, to great movie theaters and the Lensic Performing Arts Center. As our stay was during early spring when the weather was still cold at night, we thoroughly enjoyed the kiva fireplace. Our hosts, Roxanne and Andy provided us with wonderful welcome baskets containing all the fixings for a great breakfast and then some. They were attentive to every question we had throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this casita for both long and short stays in Santa Fe.

My 9 year old son and I could not have been happier in Roxanne's utterly cozy place. For a month, it was a perfectly situated home for us to explore Santa Fe. Anything you could think of, she provided. The welcome basket was full of treats....and the home itself has every amenity one could hope for. And the bed, by the way, was exceptional. (As someone who's particular with bedding and mattress quality, I was thrilled). And the kiva, with supply of wood, made snowy evenings all the cozier! Roxanne was attentive but also gave us space. The proximity to the Railyard area was a five minute walk. Anyone who wants a relaxed, warm, glitch-free Santa Fe experience of santa fe could find no more a beautiful spot.

My husband, Andy, and I have owned this property for more than 14 years. During that time, we have had really wonderful experiences with our guests, many of whom return yearly.

We live in Santa Fe with our son who will graduate from high school soon. We have two collies and a cat. Love to travel.
