Neighbourhood highlights

The Bay/Waveland area is very popular and known for its wonderful cuisine, shopping, historic Old Town and live music. This quiet, coastal neighborhood has an air of timeless elegance. Quaint cottages with colorful shutters stand alongside grand antebellum homes. Each residence tells a story steeped in the rich tapestry of Mississippi's history. The canopy of live oak branches cast dappled shadows on the sun-kissed pavement below, offering respite from the warmth of the Mississippi sun.

Waveland, Mississippi, holds a somber distinction as ground zero for Hurricane Katrina, a catastrophic natural disaster that left an indelible mark on the Gulf Coast. Waveland bore the brunt of Katrina's fury, enduring widespread devastation and unparalleled loss.

In the days and weeks that followed, Waveland became a symbol of resilience and strength in the face of adversity. The community rallied together. Volunteers arrived from across the country, offering a helping hand and a glimmer of hope amidst the devastation. Brick by brick and board by board, the town rose from the ashes. Today, Waveland stands as a testament to the power of community and the triumph of the human spirit over adversity. A visit to Waveland’s Ground Zero museum is a must!

The golf cart (included with Magnolia Beach) can be driven just in front of the house along the beach on quiet Beach Boulevard, into Old Town, or in the opposite direction to explore more of Waveland, Coleman Avenue, the Waveland pier, bathhouse, and a very nice sand volleyball court.

The seaside town of Bay St. Louis (a five-minute drive from this property) was named one of the “Coolest Small Towns in America” by Budget Travel and was recognized as a top 10 small beach town by Coastal Living Magazine.

The 100 Men D.B. A. Hall is a treat for music enthusiasts. The Hall has a rich history of blues, jazz and rhythm and blues with cultural music events to enjoy. Don't miss an opportunity to attend an event!

Bay St. Louis also has a beautiful harbor, with yachts, sailboats, and motorboats that harbor year-round and also some options for slip rental and temporary boat tie-up locations to stop in to enjoy Old Town. There are public launches in Bay St. Louis, on Beach Boulevard (Washington Street Launch), North Beach (Cedar Point), and Hwy 603 (Bayou LaCroix).

Fishing tours are plentiful. Want to bring your own boat? There is room to park a 24 ft boat in the driveway. Just be sure and purchase a Mississippi fishing license and enjoy!

Magnolia Beach is also in close proximity to NASA Space Center and their Visitor Center/Infinity Visit NASA Stennis - NASA. A favorite with children and adults alike!

The closest casinos include Hollywood Casino and Resort and the Silver Slipper, both in Bay St. Louis. The Island View Casino is located in Gulfport; Beau Rivage Casino, Margaritaville, the Scarlet Pearl, and many others are located in Biloxi.
