Family House with 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. Walking distance to the nearest Metro stop, ¾ mile to the 405 Freeway, and 2 miles to the 101. 20 mi to LAX, 10 mi to Universal, 17 mi to Santa Monica Pier, 28 mi to Malibu, 45 mi to Disney.
This brightly-lit, charming 3-bedroom home is centrally-located, with access to everything L.A. has to offer. We have single beds in two of the bedrooms, a comfy couch which is great for naps and full-night sleeps in the 3rd, and 2 twin-size inflatable mattresses with pump. Comfortable, inviting living room, dining room, and vintage 1950's kitchen (fully functional) with new fridge and freezer. Our covered patio, in the backyard, has a 6-foot folding banquet table and 6 folding chairs—especially great if you have kids, for easy clean-up. We’re in the process of planning landscaping in the back and front yards, so at the moment, we have dirt and (environmentally-friendly) browning grass--and a huge rosemary bush, so help yourself! We also have an Energy Star front-loading washing machine and solar air dryer (read: retractable clothesline) under the covered patio, great for drying towels at the end of a beach day.
You'll have full access to the entire house, backyard, and driveway. The detached, 2 car garage will not be accessible. We have three bicycles for our guests' use: 2 adult bikes and one child bike with training wheels.
Other things to note
We are located near the Van Nuys airport (for smaller planes, no commercial jets), so there is the occasional plane flying just west of overhead. The sound doesn't bother us (especially since the planes pass by quickly and there are no flights past 10 pm), but in case you're looking for absolute quiet, we wanted to mention it.
No smoking in the house please and no pets.

We won't be in the home, while you're there, but are happy to answer any questions you might have about the house, neighborhood, local attractions or L.A. at large, before your visit.
My husband, Craig, and I have been in Los Angeles for the last 10 years and just bought this sweet house. We have a six year-old daughter and enjoy exploring new neighborhoods as a family (and couple), heading to the beach, and planning our urban homestead. We love hosting friends and out-of-town visitors, and are looking forward to planting a vegetable garden in the backyard. I (Jackie) have done a lot of traveling, and it's a pleasure to meet people from other parts of North America and abroad. We like to camp, swim, try (and cook) new foods, and give time to our community. Our daughter goes to a dual-immersion school, and both she and I speak Spanish (and are happy to help any Spanish-speaking guests). French is also spoken here.
We've hosted individuals and families in our other homes, and just had friends and their children stay with us for 3 weekends during a whirlwind California adventure, so we're pretty easy-going as hosts. We just ask that our guests treat our space and our neighbors with respect.
