Description

The space

Newly built small studio with everything you could possibly need. Full-size pullout bed. Kitchenette with microwave hood, induction cooktop, fridge/freezer plus tea kettle and coffee press.
Please note that this is a small space. This is San Francisco after all and we do not have too much space here.

Guest access

Guest have access to laundry facility, and the use of garden and deck with city view to Bay Bridge, Mt Diablo, Oakland and Berkley.

Public transportation is very convenient to all the major sights in the city. If you do have a car, street parking is also very easy - free without time limit or residential permit requirement like many parts in SF.

Interaction with guests

I live upstairs. Feel free to ask for what you need and/or suggestions for things to do and places to see.

Getting around

2 min walk from the house is the MUNI bus stop for the 8/8x/9/9x buses which take you downtown.
5 min walk is the 3rd St Light Rail.
10 min walk is the Caltrain station at Bayshore.

Other things to note

This is a quiet residential neighborhood; very peaceful for a restful stay after a long day of sightseeing. The small 'neighborhood downtown' (Leland Ave) is about 8 mins walk down a steep hill (Alpha St). There is just about one of everything - library, post office, medical clinic, pharmacist, bank, coffee shop, nail salons, produce stores, some restaurants - couple of Chinese, one Vietnamese, and a Taqueria, even a public pool. This area closes early though; right after dusk.

A very popular Jazz club/restaurant called the 7-miles House is within 15-20 mins walk south. They have live music every night when there isn't a game (49ers or Giants). Brunch on Sundays.

A 15mins walk NE will bring you to the beginning of the buzzing Portola district, where there are many restaurants and bakeries to choose from. The famous Four Barrel Coffee is on Burrows St. right off San Bruno Ave.

Perched on top of a hill, Chiat's place has a lovely view of the valley when you walk up to his deck. You can also view south at the Visiticion Valley a few steps away at the end of his block. The bus stop is a short walk away and the nearby mini Chinatown makes it a safe and convenient spot. Chiat keeps the place pretty clean! The only thing is that I was there during a period of unprecedented rain in San Fran. There was some flooding and damp odor that Chiat quickly addressed. I was also lucky enough to check out Chiat's place next door. If you can splurge, that place is pretty good too! On a personal note, Chiat is a great host and a great chef! Thanks for the great meals and conversations!

Loved the studio! Chait was a great host and quickly responded to questions I had about my arrival time/picking up keys/dropping off keys. He was friendly upon arrival and welcomed us to the studio, which was clean and comfortable.

Chait was great and was very accommodated my messy check-in. He was extremely professional and I couldn't have asked for a better host. The studio was perfect for our needs. My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights and just needed a place to hunker down for the nights. Very cost effective but I wouldn't recommend it for people that need a lot of space. It seemed relatively newly refinished but just a tad bit small. Reminded me of a typical Tokyo apartment.

Chait was very friendly and easy to correspond with via text. The space was perfect for my needs, clean, well located, safe, and had a nice view. I'd happily stay again.

I like to hike with my dogs, read and the usual other stuff - eat, drink and sleep. I'll eat anything but celery!
