Beautiful vintage home in a great location for us, visiting my daughter at MTU. Hosts were onsite when we arrived and very helpful. Good stay and comfy bed

Pros: very quiet neighborhood, center of Hancock/Houghton, Hancock bars/restaurants close by and Quincy Mine Hoist/fascinating ruins a vigorous walk away, nicely furnished with antiques and a personal touch, very large bedrooms, good bed, host attentive during check in (though remotely), all mechanicals working. Cons: bath down hall, lots of steps

The house and it's decor reflect the history of the area. We only had time to use the bedroom and bath. All was comfortable and clean. Remember, it's a shared bathroom, so may need to allow for extra time on weekend morning showers. I liked the secret garage entrance...

This is a great alternative to traditional hotels or other accommodations. The victorian decor & house is amazing and put together for a very fun experience. The kitchen and bathroom are updated and fresh and fit well within the rest of the house. Each room is nicely put together and the bed provided a great nights sleep. Pamela was a great host and provided timely response during our stay. Thanks Pam! I would recommend to anyone coming to Houghton / Hancock to look into this wonderful place!

If you enjoy a little history, this was an interesting place to stay. We entered the house from the garage through the historical basement, which was much better than climbing the steep stairs to the front door through the snow. Be sure to get the garage code if you will be arriving in the winter. There is a street sign that says No Parking from 2-5am, but I'm not sure if that is just for the winter. The house has been going through some extensive remodeling, so it seems to be a work in progress with many nice features. There is only one bathroom for the three rentable rooms. We have done a lot of hostel travel, so it was not a big deal for us. It's a quick walk to Carmelitas Mexican Restuarant, which just opened the day we arrived. The food was good. Kavela's Resturant is a great pancake and local hangout. Internet was not available, but I somehow managed with my phone and free internet setups around town. The house was clean, fun to hang out in and a great place to meet other travelers.
