The space

Casa Steve is a private residence built as a family home with four separate apartments. Unit#2 is a large 1000 square foot apartment with two bedrooms and a wrap around balcony. All exterior walls open to the wrap around balcony which allows plenty of natural light and and breezes to flow through the apartment. Take your morning coffee or evening cocktail while watching the neighbourhood come alive.

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen including fridge, stove, cooking utensils, pots and pans, as well as coffee maker and blender for mixed drinks or smoothies. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, cooled by ceiling fans with large opening window walls to the exterior.

Old Town in Puerto Vallarta is a Real Mexican Neighbourhood that comes alive in the evenings. Neighborhood is lively and active with kids playing in the street, Marta selling roasted corn on the corner and the neighbors enjoying the evening.

People choose to stay here because it is within walking distance to restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping, the Rio Cuale and the swinging bridge, as well as the Malecon and famous Los Muertos Beach which is about 6 blocks down Aquile Serdan.

Public Transit does not come down Aguile Serdan but does pass by one block away. This will take you to shopping centres, the marina and beaches to the south. Taxis are readily available and cost about 40 Pesos or 4 dollars within old town. The new pier is set to open on the beach which gives you access to daily boat tours and is also within walking distance.

The rooftop terrace is a haven in the morning or evening away from the streets before or after the beach. This is a unique place tucked in near the river but within walking distance to everything that PV has to offer.

Great place! Walkable to everything but far enough away to where you feel like your with the locals. Would stay again in a heart beat!

Response from Steve:
The neighborhood definitely has a vibe. Half the time the lady next door selling taco's is saying something and I am intently learning Spanish to try and figure it all out. Thanks again.

Steve and his manager Javier were wonderful hosts, even ordering a taxi for us when we left for the bus terminal. Unfortunately, the remote for the TV had gone missing and although they both spent hours trying to reprogram, we missed relaxing in front of the TV after hours of walking. The apartment is located in a very Mexican Old Town neighbourhood with kids playing on the street, loudspeakers on cars and music from neighbouring homes. If you are not used to the Mexican culture and require quiet, this may not suit you, but we loved it. The bright and modern apartment was completely outfitted with everything, down to a curling iron and the beds were very, very comfortable.

Steve's place was exactly what we were looking for on our first visit to Puerto Vallarta. The condo is located in "Old Town" and was walkable to everything that makes PV special. Airy, sunlit and situated in the heart of an authentic seaside Mexican neighborhood, Casa Steve's accommodations are ideal for anyone seeking a genuine Mexican vacation experience. Steve is extremely knowledgable about PV and the surrounding area, and was happy to answer all our questions and provide recommendations. We look forward to returning to PV.

We stayed at Casa Steve for spring break, overall we had a good experience and we were near a lot of restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The apartment was nice and clean, and all the facilities worked. However, we had some issues with house rules where we were not told any of the guidelines for staying in the house when we arrived and the lack of communication and information created some issues. The online profile should also be more specific on house rules since it currently only states "to respect other guests".

Response from Steve:
To respect other guests, we discussed upon checkin with regard to noise in the house. We also discussed the use of a/c only when sleeping with the doors closed. On Monday & Tuesday the a/c was left on with the doors open. On Tuesday the a/c remotes were retrieved, returned and discussed the a/c again. Two days later the toilet was plugged and the another guest complained about profanity from the guests that Jessica and her group invited into my home while they were entertaining on the common rooftop. I don't think I discussed the broken dishes. Maturity and respect is all that I ask, and communication was given upon check in. It is 6 blocks from the malecon as indicated in the profile and a map is visible on this website. Reading the actual profile prior to booking would provide this information. I don't have a lot of rules as most people are self aware but this is a good suggestion and will be implemented.

Steve is an AMAZING host! He definitely knows the town, and gave us excellent bar and restaurant recommendations. The apartment is steps away from the famed Malecón, beautiful beaches, great shopping, and nightlife. Steve's rooftop is absolutely spectacular. Make sure to enjoy a sunset there! Lastly, our flights are towards the end of the day. Steve made accomodations for our luggage, and we had a worry-free day because of his hospitality and warmth.

Steve's apartment was fantastic! Great location, open airy space, and a lovely unit. Steve helped us with travel to and from the apartment as well as pointed out great spots around town. The apartment was clean, well furnished and very cozy. We really enjoyed our stay and would love the return sometime very soon. Thanks, Steve!
