Bright and sunny tranquil space with lovely bed, antique French armoire, antique washstand, Tibetan rug, office supplies, desk and comfortable chair and a window AC with remote. This room has a southern exposure so gets great light and is a very quiet room. This room is on the 3rd floor in the rear of the house & very close to the bathroom.
Trash collection comes early 7-ish) on Tuesday morning. This might be the only disturbance to your sleep.

The space

I have spent years lovingly renovating my home. When I bought it it was a frat house with purple moldings and green floors and bare light bulbs hanging from the ceilings. A friend suggested I should try Air B&B because I enjoy meeting new people from all over the world. It is a 6 bedroom house and I can only sleep in 1 bed at a time. It has been 2 years now and I LOVE being an Airbnb Hostess!!
If you need extra space to prepare for a meeting or presentation usually the dining room is where people do that.
You are also welcome to have friends over for dinner, use the grill outside or relax on the back porch. I also have a decent television and a comfy sofa you can relax on if you just want to kick back and watch a show or movie.

Guest access

With the exception of other people's rooms the entire house is open to guests. Have a friend or colleague over for dinner or to watch a movie in the living room. Want to grill a steak? I have a propane grill outside near the garden. I want guests to feel at home.

Interaction with guests

If I am here I am happy to be of any assistance you may need. I want your stay to be a pleasant one. If you just want to be alone - that's fine, too!

There is a washer/dryer in the basement. I also have irons, ironing boards and a clothes steamer for guests' use. The kitchen is fully open for guests to use as well. I just ask that you clean up after yourself if you cook a meal. There is a Safeway 2 blocks away; a Bank of America 1 block away. and a CVS drug store 1.5 blocks away. This is a great location.

Evalyn is a nice person and she is so funny, and Handsome is so cute. Overall it's a good experience to stay here. Thanks Evalyn, Hope you everything goes well and same as Handsome!

Evalyn is a wonderful host, she makes the house feel like home, and she's very responsive. The location is also nice, approximately 20 minutes walk to JHU homewood campus. If I visit Baltimore again, Evalyn's place is definitely my first choice. Plus Mr. Handsome is such an adorable cat

Lovely home, lovely hosts (Evelyn and her cat Handsome). Evelyn went above and beyond to make me feel at home and when I was having a health issue she generously offered her help when I truly needed it. I stayed in "Cozy"room and it was perfect, very comfortable and quiet room at the back of the house. I will definetely stay here again - great location and great price!

Evalyn's place is definitely the best I have ever booked on Airbnb, and her hospitality the best of--anywhere! The place is most lovely and well maintained. (Evalyn takes so much care to attend to her house. There are a lot more to the rooms than the photos.) I lived here two years ago myself and this time I booked the place for my mom. She enjoys her stay here so much that she is now complaining about my own apartment everyday since it is no comparison to Evalyn's place ("Look at all your IKEA furnitures! No taste whatsoever! And the dust!"). Lastly, we all miss the free breakfast at Evalyn's. It beats Johns Hopkins Dining any day ever since two years ago even the school tried its best to improve. 非常棒的住家,超友好的房主,像个精品旅馆,且提供超豪华免费早餐!

Great 3 story walk up in a friendly neighborhood of Baltimore. Generous fixings for breakfast. Shared hall. Shared hall bath reminded me of Europe. Evalyn provided robes, toiletries, great advise. Check in was smooth. Other guests were fun to chat with. Nearby R place had gourmet, multiethnic food stalls and customers. It added to the sense of community for me, as a solo, older woman traveler. AC for the heat. I felt comfortable walking to downtown. Free busses are easy to catch to harbor and downtown. I loved the trip to Ft Mc Henry and Maryland Historical Society chasing history. It was my first trip to Baltimore and I loved it! I am someone who lived in Oakland for 10 years so was reminded of my time there. Would totally stay with Evalyn again and recommend to any friends comfortable with inner city living. Evalyn went above and beyond as hostess!!

Evalyn User ProfileEvalyn is a superhost.

First let me say that I have FIVE (5) ROOMS not Homes!
I have a 6 bedroom house in Charles Village West near R House, Otto bar, BMA, Paper Moon Diner, Sweet 27, Parts and Labor...The Movement Lab,..many activities in my area. There are so many new places opening up around here it is difficult to keep up! Which is very nice, actually.

I HAVE A CAT NAMED HANDSOME - because he IS!
(I spelled that with all caps so people will see that. Have had a few allergic guests who didn't READ. Everything....they were In a hurry....ah-choo!Oopsie!)
He is the real owner of the home and kindly allows me to stay here to pay his bills and spoil him rotten. Handsome grew up as a formerly abused stray in the alley and adopted me. He is an indoor/outdoor kitty; has all of his shots and fairly decent table manners.

Handsome is my co-Host - he welcomes my guests, their massages, adoration and Whisker Lickens' - which guests will find strategically placed throughout the first floor specifically in the kitchen and living room.
Should you reserve a room it is with the understanding you will become part of the HRH staff - so let him in and out of the back door if you would be so kind. (Please and thank you in advance.)

The price of the rooms include: all bed linens and towels, a bathrobe, paper goods, shampoo, conditioner (Pantene), body wash, laundry soap, and coffee and teas.

I enjoy the variety of the people who come through my home on AirBnB and learning from them. From Africa to Australia; China, India, Jordan, England, Ireland, Russia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Japan, Israel, Scotland - and more! It has been my pleasure to Host these guests.

I love art, books, movies, travel, and animals.

My dream destinations are Greece, Italy (ALL of Italy!) Australia, Provence in early summer and Monet's Gardens in Giverny, France - in full bloom in May.
