Description

The space

Drift off to sleep in the room's comfortable Queen sized bed which sits opposite an original tile fireplace.

As with many old homes, this bedroom does not have a hanging closet, but there are several empty drawers where you can unpack your clothing.

You will have your own private guest bathroom with bathtub and shower. I provide shampoo, conditioner, soap, and hair dryer as well as fresh linens.

Guest access

You will have the house all to yourself.

Interaction with guests

I would love to fill you in on the best places to see, eat, and soak in the beauty of the area. Just let me know what you're into (foodie, history, trendy, wine, craft beer, typical tourist spots, etc.)

The neighbourhood

Founded in 1883, Grant Park Historic District is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Take a stroll down the brick-paved sidewalks to view the quaint neighborhood houses, most from the turn of the 20th century.

You're walking distance from:
- Zoo Atlanta
- Historic Oakland Cemetery (where famous Atlantans such as Margaret Mitchell and Bobby Jones are buried)
- LOADS of great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops in the neighborhood (I’m happy to provide recommendations based on your tastes)

If you're visiting on Sunday morning, walk to the Grant Park Farmer's market to pick up some in-season produce and prepare a gourmet meal. (Or you can do what I do and order a crepe and iced coffee.)

Try some craft brews at Eventide Brewery, which is right off of the Atlanta Beltline walking trail, or select from a huge menu of brews at the local growler shop.

It's just three blocks to walk or jog to the park itself. On your way, stop by Bennett's - the local deli and market - to pack a picnic lunch. If you get a bit too faint from the heat, take a dip in the local public pool at the park for less than $5.

In the evening, bike or uber just 1.5 miles to Turner Field to watch the Atlanta Braves play. An inexpensive general admission ticket is all you need to watch the game from the Chop House bar over second base.

Sight-see at one of the local attractions within a few miles:
- Georgia Aquarium
- World of Coca-Cola
- CNN Center
- Phillips Arena
- Georgia World Congress Center
- Georgia Dome
- Centennial Olympic Park
- Skyview Atlanta Ferris Wheel

Getting around

You’re two minutes away from I-20 and I-75/85, allowing you easy access anywhere in the city! If you’re driving, the house has off-street parking around the back. The nearest Marta train stop is 1.5 miles away, and the bus is just a few blocks. If you’re flying here, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport is a 15-minute drive. And Uber is always a great option in Atlanta.

I had such a great time at Cindy's. The house is lovely and placed in a great neighborhood. I had a few hectic months and it was just great to relax in such a beautiful house. She was super friendly and made me at ease. She even had a little booklet with all the interesting things you can do in Atlanta! With her I really experienced the "Southern Hospitality" and will definitely book another stay at her place in the near future.

Cindy was the most friendly, accommodating, and lovely host! I felt like we were friends long before our arrival in Atlanta just from our fun and lengthy email correspondences. Her home is absolutely precious and exactly as shown online. The Grant Park neighborhood is so sweet and funky and QUIET...especially for being a true in-city neighborhood and so close to everything downtown ATL has to offer. I will always choose to stay with Cindy if I can on future visits!!!

This was our first Airbnb experience, and it was AMAZING!!! Prior to our arrival, Cindy e-mailed me to find out what types of things we wanted to do while we were in town. Based on my responses, Cindy made several recommendations of places to go and things to do while we were in town. We tried several of the restaurants she suggested and were very pleased with all of her recommendations. The house was even cuter in person than it is in the pictures! Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived, and there was a sweet "welcome" gift for us in the fridge. Cindy was not in town while we were visiting, yet was easily accessible via e-mail AND left contact information for her neighbor in the event that we needed immediate assistance during our stay. We absolutely LOVED sitting on the porch in the mornings with our coffee and the peaceful, serene neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again!

Cindy's home in Grant Park was a wonderful as advertised. The neighborhood was full of old, wonderful homes, and the neighbors were friendly. Cindy welcomed us to Atlanta with two cold Coca Colas and a very friendly, hand-written note. Cindy also provided numerous restaurant and bar recommendations (go to Ria's Bluebird for breakfast). Great house, in a great neighborhood that is centrally located.

Cindy was very welcoming and great at communicating with me before, during and after our stay! This was my first time using Airbnb and she definitely made the experience wonderful. The gift Cindy left for us was perfectly Atlanta related! Her home was very nice and my boyfriend and I enjoyed ourselves. We went for a walk and enjoyed the beautiful homes in the Grant Park area and even went to Grand Central Pizza. You have to try it! It was also pretty easy to get to the downtown area via my car or Uber.

Cindy User ProfileCindy is a superhost.

Hi! I'm Cindy and I love all things history, mom-and-pop restaurants, and being outdoors. I love meeting new people and helping them get to know Atlanta. I'm an active member in my neighborhood association, and am happy to answer any of your questions about the history of the house and the neighborhood.

My favorite place in the house is actually the front porch, where I love to take a book or my laptop on a warm summer evening and sip a glass of wine. The house is on a bit of a hill, so the space is rather private even though you can see all that's happening on the street below.

I want you to have an enjoyable stay in Atlanta, so please let me know how I can help with that. I would love to hear your feedback to help me improve for future guests.
