Ian was very available and helpful throughout and leading up to our stay. The place is in a very beautiful location which is great and the extensive detail Ian provides is accurate. I cannot fault him for his clarity on the house and how off grid it is. I think my only comment wo…

Thanks for the really helpful feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. Each winter I try to put together a list of improvements. Without good feedback it boils down to what I think might be a good idea to do. It is hard to describe the lane down to the beach, hence the photograph. I base my advice on what guests tell me as I learned to drive on that lane, so am rather gung ho about it. You are the first to have needed help getting up having followed my advice. I can quite understand how it happenned so I can only support what you say about meeting at the main car park for a lift down. Generally speaking guests only tell me of problems when the lane surface is wet, in your case it was very wet. Most guests bring their cars down the lane to the beach on arrival, but take them up to the main car park when they next go out. They then take advantage of a lift up the lane when it's time to go home.

The location of this cottage is wonderful, the views are gorgeous and it's very 'off the grid', with great access to the south west coast path and the beach. It is very basic (we were not expecting quite how basic it would be) but this didn't bother us as the location makes up fo…

I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves. I'm planning further improvements over the winter, and will aim to document these with more photographs. In a remote situation like this the aim is provide sufficient for people to be comfortable. Luxury of any sort is completely out of the question so I'm focussing on clean and comfortable.

We had a brilliant long weekend stay at Crabrock. It really is remote and a bit "roughing it" as Ian has described, but Ian has done an amazing job of making the cottage function with solar power and rainwater. Staying at Crabrock is for people who want a totally quiet weekend aw…

We LOVE this place. We didn't want to leave. Waking up to the sunshine and the sea was just wonderful. It's so blissfully remote with stunning landscapes all around and gorgeous coastal walks to enjoy. One day we walked the coast to Brixham, another we walked the coast towards Ki…

Crabrock Cottage is in a remote but stunning location looking out to sea. It is only 20mins by car Dartmouth. The host called Ian is an absolute star; He met us all nearby and drove us down a bumpy road to the house, where fireplaces were already lit, and hot water bottles added …

I'm so glad your weekend at Crabrock Cottage. I know I am biased but it is a most fabulous location. Btw - your private suggestions are bang on and included in the list of jobs to get done before the season really gets going.
