This is a great place to stay if you want to experience the Norwegian countryside. It's relatively close to "downtown" Heidal, where you can visit local businesses, such as the local cheese factory (Heidal Ysteri), try river rafting or horseback riding in the mountains. You will of course need a car to get around. The cabin is equipped with the essentials you'll need to prepare food and a functioning fireplace in case you get cold. Upon leaving the cabin, we were unsure where to dispose of our garbage bags, at which point our hostess said she take care of that, and asked us to leave it by the main entrance. All-in-all, we had a great stay, and we can recommend it to other travellers.

The cabin is large and great for a family getaway. Hot water and heating was great. The power connection was a bit unstable but most of the time it was fine. Great views of the mountains from the cabin.

We had a great time at Irene's place! The house is lovely decorated and offers everything one may need - including a beautiful view over the mountains. Heidal is located perfectly for trips to, for instance, Lom, Vågåmo or Jotunheimen National Park. Irene was always easy to contact and she gave us a warm welcome although we arrived quite late in the evening. Tusen takk :-)

Nice room and we are surprised by its living rooms which is suitable for big party. Although it is a little difficult to locate the house as we arrived a little later Irene gave us the great help to find the villas. We enjoyed the stay.

Place was little bit hard to find. The house was cosy and located in family farm. We were 4 persons group staying 2 nights but the house is very suitable for a bigger group. Plenty of space and sleeping places and the living room with stove (fireplace) was amazing. Irene was not home during our stay but her aunt helped us with all practical issues. The front porch/terrace was under construction but we didn't mind ;)

My Family and I traveled Norway in August. We stayed at Irene's house just one night. The house was really really nice. Typical and traditional Norwegian style home. We found it a little bit hard to find the place but our "effort" has been well rewarded. The little village was awesome. Thanks Irene :)
