We stayed at this house for a guys surfing trip and it worked out great. It's a spacious home close to the beach. Comfortable beds, roomy living room and kitchen, and a basement with some room as well. The master bedroom and master bathroom were amazing. The rest of the beds slightly above average comfort-wise. Kitchen was new and had most things we needed, bar some cooking oil/olive oil. Kitchen table was great for groups and all the kitchen appliances were new and worked great. The living room felt somewhat unfinished with three couches circling a small Ikea table and small rug. It can be a lot more cozy and functional with a few more elements. I think the TV in the master bedroom was actually bigger than the living room, even though the living room was a lot bigger. The patio/lawn area looks a lot bigger in the picture than it actually is. The area around the house is pretty undesirable which makes it a good value overall. Close to I-5 and if you have any windows open, you'll hear it well. Windows do a great job of blocking any noise though. Oh, and only other gripe was the checkout. 10:00am is a bit early than the industry standard of 11:00am, we felt rushed the last day because of it. Getting to the beach was a breeze which was the most important thing for us. For the price you really cannot beat the value of this house. Thanks for a great weekend Jay!

Our host messaged me specific details about how to get the keys and all the information I needed regarding the home. He would respond immediately if we had any questions. This home was perfect for a trip Legoland which is about 5/10 min away. Plenty of beds in the 4 rooms. Couldn't have been more happy with our trip.

My group came to the house for a girls weekend and we had an excellent stay. Jay was always very quick to respond and allowed an early and late check-out even though we didn't need it. We were told there were house rules listed in the kitchen but couldn't find them anywhere. A couple of the girls that slept on the bunk beds complained that they were too firm and slept on the couches instead, but another girl really liked the firmness of the beds. So perfect example of how you can't please everyone. The rest of us thought our bedrooms and beds were very comfortable. The AC really gets the floors cool right away and guests aren't supposed to wear shoes in the house so I would recommend packing socks or slippers to wear indoors. It would have been really useful to have had some saran wrap or foil in the kitchen as well as some plastic baggies guests could use for meals cooked in the house. We used the Tupperware but sometimes you just need to wrap things up and don't want the hassle of going to the store to buy something like that you'll use twice on a trip. The house kinda had a funky smell when we first got in so some in the group got scented candles. All in all we had a great stay our complaints are very minor and I would recommend this house to any group. The location is perfect easy access to everything and it's really surprising how you don't hear the highway at all!

Jay was quick in confirming my booking and sent me information for finding the key without any prompting needed. It was in and out with no mishaps. The apartment was very nice as well with plenty of space and nice furnishing.

Our stay at Jay's place was great. Our group of 2 families (4 adults & 5 children) fit perfectly in the spacious home. The setup through the entire house was helpful too with 3 couches, and a long dining room table with 8 chairs (there are folding chairs if you need more seating) accommodated us perfectly. Also lucky people who stay in the master suite are also in for a plush stay in the king bed and master on-suite. Jay was easy to work with and very responsive. Only things to note were: The proximity to the Interstate. It is very close to I-5. Which is a double edge sword. It's nice because it's convenient and easy when driving. However it's loud. Not unbearable but very noticeable if a person isn't used to that type of thing. Though to be fair the noise was reduced for the most part in the bedrooms at night. The WiFi was fairly slow but most in our party decided to just leave work, at work on this trip. I would've needed to make other plans if I had needed faster internet during our stay. Overall we loved our stay and highly recommend Jay's Leucadia home.

Great place to stay, especially for a larger group of people. Plenty of space and rooms to accommodate. Especially liked the way Jay keeps everything in great condition. This is more towards a professional listing rather than a normal Airbnb listing to just share or stay. Please keep that in mind when booking. Location was close to the 5 and made commuting extremely easy. Some traffic noise, but once you closed the door it shut it almost completely out. Great garage space and parking. Probably enough for 5-6 cars if needed. Back yard was big enough for the kids to throw the ball around a little and play bean bag if wanted. We will be contacting Jay again next year for our annual trip!

Jay User ProfileJay is a superhost.

For more than 9 years, Jay Sherman has been helping investors create high returns secured with well-planned real estate.

Known for his "leave no detail behind" approach, Jay has advised on millions of dollars worth of property for the investment community.

He was appointed in 2009 to serve as Treasurer for the North San Diego Real Estate Investor's Association. He served as the Director of Due Diligence for the iconic Los Angeles Real Estate Investors Club in 2006-2007.

At the top of the market, from 2005 to 2006, Jay sold off the majority of his California portfolio. He also bought his wife's dream home in Fallbrook, CA.

In 2008, Jay realized it was time to buy in California again.

To stay on top of the market, Jay keeps a copy on his desk of the latest Bruce Norris California Economic Update, the John Schaub Newsletter and the Quarterly Timing Report by economist Robert M. Campbell.

Jay is grateful to have studied under Bruce Norris, the investor who accurately predicted the boom and bust of the California real estate market long before it happened. He also frequents lectures from experts like Tony Alvarez, Dyches Boddiford, Robert Campbell, Mike Cantu, Steve Dexter, Peter Fortunato, Ward Hanigan, Gary Johnston, Reggie Lal, Jimmy Napier, Bruce Norris, John Schaub, Bill Tan, David Tilney and Clyde Wilson.

Jay earned his Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from San Diego State University in 1993. Before he entered real estate, Jay edited movie trailers in Los Angeles. There, he met his wife, Christy, while she was finishing up her master's degree. Jay proposed to Christy in 2002 on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Christy's dream was to get a PhD in psychology. Jay began to focus on real estate as a way to pay for Christy's tuition. He liked the idea of investing in something tangible where he could control his risk.

Jay bought his first investment property in 2001 using his life savings of $5,000 as a down payment.

Jay and his wife, Dr. Christy Sherman, now have two children, Jacob (11) and Alexandra (9). The family enjoys going to the Wild Animal Park, traveling and relaxing at home in Fallbrook.
