"Where to begin?? John is a great person, it was a pleasure to meet him. This is my third time in airbnb, and I can say absolutely he is the best host ever.... The apartment as he describes is so ARTISTIC! ITs really beautiful, full of art pieces from the world! The most important, bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen were very VERY clean! The best, was the bed, it's like a tempur, I was for a week in John's apartment, and my rest was awesome! in nyc, with all the activities, believe me, you need good rest! the neighborhood is safe and nice, two blocks away from the train, 20-30 min to times square. Para los latinos, yo soy mexicana, créanme que será una excelente decisión quedarse en el departamento de John, el ha viajado por el mundo, ama las experiencias multiculturales, ama México y a los mexicanos! No podrán elegir mejor!! I really recommend John's apartment! Thanks for all! Hope to see you again!!!!"

Comfortable private bedroom for two in Manhattan on famously beautiful Riverside Drive, 5 min to subway, near a breathtaking view of the Hudson river. Easy access to the sights and sounds of NYC. Quiet leafy street 2 blocks from Broadway, in a real NYC neighborhood. Big living room, fine art, multiple couches, and a disco ball on the 13-foot ceiling. This is an unusually pretty little area on the edge of a genteel historic district called Audubon Terrace.

The space

The apartment is arty and comfy, large by NYC standards, with room to breathe, a sense of calm, and a natural vibe. You may well wake up to birdsong, as unlikely as that sounds. The furnishings are a mix of rustic and elegant. There are trees on the street, plants in the windows, fresh healthy delicious plant-based foods available upon request, and a front stoop to sit on (very New York).

Guest access

Guests have a private room with a queen-sized memory-foam mattress and 100% cotton sheets and towels. The shared kitchen is well-supplied and the emphasis is on healthy clean plant-based goodness. Ask us about fresh organic juice, green smoothies, yoga lessons, or fresh-baked bread. The living room is comfortable and airy.

Interaction with guests

One of us will meet you or you can pick up/drop off keys at the (fantastic indie) coffee shop down the street. We'll be around if you need us, and we love helping.

Other things to note

We are full of ideas for unusual interesting things to do and places to go. It's really easy to get around NYC from here and we have loads of off-the-beaten-track suggestions if you are interested.

My wife and I stayed at Johns for 9 nights. His place was very comfortable, clean and the space was great. The appartment is located in a lovely peaceful area and very close to the subway for getting around. Both John and his wife were friendly and answered any questions we had. We also had the appartment to ourself for a few days whilst John was out of town which was also a bonus. Great host! We would definelty stay here again.

John and Kelsey were such gracious hosts who were very welcoming yet unobtrusive. Their place has a great location, close to shopping and transport, and has a real quirk to it. I would highly recommend this residence to a single person on either business or for pleasure

Enjoyed my stay very much. John and Kelsey were thoughtful but unobtrusive hosts. Their place is quirky and artsy with all the amenities needed for a relaxing visit. The neighborhood is vibrant and diverse, with easy transport links (bus stop right out the front door and subway stop 5 minutes walk away). It's great to escape here after a busy day downtown.

Our stay at John's place was fantastic. Right from the start communication was good and John was always available to answer any questions we had even before the trip. Getting to the apartment by shuttle was easy and check in was a breeze. The apartment is conveniently located near the subway and it's an easy ride on the 1 train to most of the sights in NYC making it a convenient base to get around NYC. there is a great cafe, Taszo for good coffee and delicious breakfast nearby. John gave lots of great suggestions and was always checking in with us during our stay. Quite a safe neighbourhood and we didn't feel the least bit unsafe when returning late at night. Also a short stroll to great views of the Hudson River. I recommend John's place!

I came to NYC for 3 weeks mostly for business and it was a great stay for me. John was very accommodating host and I had all the privacy I needed. The place is conveniently located very close to a Subway station which makes the access to mid and lower Manhattan easy. There are a couple of really nice breakfast/coffee places in the area as well as a few restaurants. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is planning to visit New York for leisure of business. Great value!
