The international house is for long term grad student during the academic year (September - May). Occasionally, we have a room or two available for Airbnb guests to stay a short term during the academic year. For the long term contract, the Lease states that the "residents must keep the house clean and neat at all time." A decade ago, our first group of residents decides to hire a cleaning service to clean up for them instead. They were the one sharing the cost for the cleaning service. We just continue their "tradition." We the landlords even help the residents to bring to cost down by sharing the fee so the residents would never pay more than $25/person. Unfortunately, this cleaning lady retired this year after working for almost a decade with us. We couldn't find any cleaning service who would do $50/visit this day. A minimum fee is now $80- $100/visit. To make an adjustment we can only afford a cleaning service once a month instead. This money Never goes to the landlord's account. It goes directly to the cleaning service. The landlord IS NOT responsible to give the receipt for this cleaning fee. We never charge any of our Airbnb short term guests for this cleaning fee. See our description, "For a long term stay (1-12 months), Please contribute $25/mo for house cleaning service to clean the common areas of the house." We cover the cleaning fees for our short-term Airbnb guests. Did we ever charge you any cleaning fee while you are staying here? NO
Did we ever charge you for household goods while you are here? NO. We covered that for you.
Only the Leased long term residents who chip in for the household good. Like any leased contract, we the landlord doesn't provide household goods. It is NOT part of the contract. But we do provide those to our Airbnb's short term guests. Does your current contract in your new apartment provide household good for you??? Does your contract provide cleaning service for you?? Does your current landlord shop for your household good for you??
We even go out of our way to go to Costco using our membership to purchase the household item for them. We take our time and energy to shop for our residents needs. We even take them sightseeing to Rockport, to the Red Sox game, and dinners (cookout, Thanksgiving dinner, etc.) for FREE!!! Would your current landlord do that??
Wish you the best!
