The space

Perched on a hill top on the North Shore, you will love the extraordinary views of Big Bear Lake and Snow Summit Resort. Watch the fireworks from this home! This is the perfect escape for those who want plenty of outdoor space, parking and great views!

This historic rustic cabin, built in 1929, still has a lot of the original cabin charm throughout. This is an eclectic home that both Will Rogers and Wilt Chamberlain have visited because of the historical importance of the home known as the Eagle Nest North. You will love it or hate it.

Kids will have fun playing on the air hockey table, Foosball table, or the whole family can sit back and watch cable TV's throughout, a movie on the DVD player, or surf the internet! Sit back and relax in the outdoor eight person hot tub overlooking the lake. The expansive deck is perfect for watching the car show in the summer from the front of the cabin.

Retreat indoors and cozy up to the fireplace or gather around the dining table for game night or a nice meal. The kitchen has all the basics and plenty of counter space. When the weather gets chilly, retreat to the sun room with expansive windows and enjoy the lake view. Downstairs you will find a family room with a small kitchenette and bar with seating and more fabulous views.

There are plenty of sleeping options for the whole family. Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms with bathrooms. Downstairs is 1 more bedroom, a full bathroom and sleeping nook for the kids.

You agree to respect the neighborhood tranquility. Disturbing the peace is a City Ordinance Violation. Please keep noises to a minimum between the hours of 9pm and 8am.

Home Quality
Vacation Rental Properties endure heavier traffic and more abuse than an average home. While we do everything in our power to provide a clean and comfortable space for your vacation, we are also limited in some ways, and cannot promise absolute perfection. Vacation homes are privately owned, and we encourage homeowners to approve or complete necessary repairs as soon as possible. However, things like; carpet cleaning, yard work and cosmetic repairs are commonly scheduled during the off season, allowing more time to complete the work before the next guest checks in. If there is anything we should be aware of, or if you have a concern for safety please contact us immediately. We welcome and appreciate any feedback provided and will always make an attempt to make it right however possible, within reason. All Properties are inspected before arrival. If any damages are found at the home upon your arrival they must be reported to our office. If you fail to do so you will be responsible for the cost of the damage.

Destination Big Bear reserves the right to substitute like accommodations in the unlikely event that your rental home becomes uninhabitable or leaves our program. You will be notified and offered other accommodations. We understand each vacation has different needs so if the alternate property doesn’t satisfy your needs and you choose not to stay, you will be granted a full refund once you initiate cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel for any reason.

City Occupancy Limitations (Adults and Children Over 5 Years Old)
Each property is licensed to accommodate a maximum number of adults, for any given time during your stay. Overcrowding is dangerous, disrespectful and illegal. Please do not exceed the designated amount of people.

The Big Bear Lake City ordinance limits the number of cars that can park at each property. These are set by the city or county and are non-negotiable. Guests found to be in violation will be subject to immediate eviction and forfeit of all rental fees, charges and deposits. The maximum car parking is based on ideal weather conditions. Large vehicles take up more space than standard cars. Winter snow will likely reduce parking by one (1) or more spaces depending on your location. Plan appropriately. In some situations, larger vehicles or extra cars may have to park in a city parking lot which are based on availability. Please use common sense when parking- Do not block streets or corners and keep all cars parked in the driveway. During snow conditions, do not block snowplows or park anywhere on the street. City fines for blocking street during snow conditions is $150, possibility of being towed and/or immediate eviction.

City Code Trash/Ash Disposal
All guests of ALL rental homes in Big Bear are required bring their trash to one of the two main trash disposal locations. These two trash sites are funded by Big Bear Lake homeowners. They are:

41970 Garstin Drive, Big Bear Lake , CA (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake, CA 92315

Failure to dispose of trash properly will result in a $25 PER BAG disposal fee. Under no circumstances may garbage be placed outside or in others garbage cans throughout the neighborhood.

Do not dispose of ashes from fireplaces. It is against the policy of Destination Big Bear to allow disposal of fireplace ashes. If ashes are cold, you may place them in the small metal container provided. If you are in need of disposal of hot ashes, please contact Destination Big Bear. If the fireplace is gas, NEVER burn wood. Doing so will forfeit security deposit and may result in additional cleaning fees. Any improper disposal of ashes will result in forfeiture of security deposit. If hot ashes must be disposed of, please call Destination Big Bear at ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)rbecues
Propane and charcoal BBQ grills should only be used outdoors. The grill should be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under eaves and overhanging branches. Keep children and pets at least three feet away from the grill area. Never leave your grill unattended. Always make sure your gas grill lid is open before lighting it. When you are finished grilling, let the coals completely cool before disposing in a metal container. If you smell gas while cooking, immediately get away from the grill and call the fire department. Do not move the grill. If the flame goes out on a gas grill, turn the grill and gas off and wait at least 15 minutes before re-lighting it. Never place hot ashes on the ground, in the snow, or anywhere besides the metal ash can provided at your cabin.
Propane tanks are filled as needed or when reported empty by guests. If you find the propane tank runs out during your stay, please call us and we will dispatch a person with a replacement. In case of delays, tenants are welcome to exchange the propane tanks out themselves if they wish. Walgreens, K-Mart and others provide an exchange program. We will offer a credit on your account if you do an exchange and provide us a receipt, saving a lot of possible time. If your home has a charcoal BBQ guests are responsible for providing their own charcoal.

Smoking Prohibited
Smoking is not allowed in any of our units. Smoking is not allowed outside by any open window/door. Smoking is permitted on balconies as long as the doors and windows are closed. Please be sure to dispose of butts safely and properly.

Amenities/What We Provide
Plan to bring everything you may need outside of furnishings, dishes, utensils, bath towels, linens, blankets, pillows, etc. We also provide limited amounts of cleaning supplies, toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a few trash bags, etc.... We do not supply showers soaps, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc. We also do not supply irons, hair blowers or curling irons.

Each property is individually owned. Amenities are listed to the best of our current actual knowledge, without duty of inquiry or investigation, but not guaranteed. Photos are taken when the home becomes a part of our program and updated when possible, there is no guarantee the property will look exactly the same as the photos. Changes are possible without notice and will not qualify for compensation.

Amenities are not guaranteed at the time of arrival. Game tables break, hot tubs stop working. It is a mountain community and the environment is very hard on homes. Satellite dishes stop working and internet and cable do go down especially after storms. Pay-per-view may not be available in every home. If a viewing of a pay-per-view show is important than the tenant must line this up prior to your arrival. At times, homeowners may have to approve it and homeowners are not always available. Barbecue grills may not be cleaned between tenants. Refrigerators will take some time to get your items cold. This is because there are no items in the fridge when you arrive and the air is just cold. While you open the fridge to load your groceries the cold air escapes. It can take hours for the items to get cold, make sure to leave the door closed as much as possible.

Each home is equipped with basic kitchen utensils and appliances. Basic pots, pans, dishes, and silverware are provided. If you plan on making a special dish, plan on bring your own equipment. (Example: Birthday cake pan or slow cooker.)

Hot Tub (If Applicable)
If a hot tub/spa/Jacuzzi is not working (if provided at the home), we will do our best get the homeowners’ specified spa repair company to repair it. However, we do not offer any guarantees, refunds or compensation if it is not operational during your stay.

Game Tables (If Applicable)
DO NOT MOVE THE GAME TABLE! IF YOU MOVE THE GAME TABLE, your full deposit will be forfeited and any amounts over that for additional repairs.

Internet (If Applicable)
You agree that you will not:
give out wireless internet password outside of your rental party;
reset, erase or modify the router password;
transmit any material that is unlawful;
transmit any material that infringes copyright or other proprietary rights of any party;

Internet use will terminate immediately if you fail to comply with any of its terms or conditions.

By electing to use WiFi, you assume all risk and hold us harmless in the event of any damage you may suffer due to security breaches.

Garage Access
A majority of our homes DO NOT have access to the garage for vehicles or storage unless noted in the property description. Garages are typically where owners store seasonal items.

Winter Weather in the Mountains
You are required to carry tire chains in your vehicle when traveling in mountain communities in the state of California from November through April. We are not able to help if your car becomes stuck for liability reasons.

Snow Removal is the guest's’ responsibility. Winter snow will likely reduce parking by one (1) or more spaces depending on your location. Plan appropriately. Decks, porches, BBQ's and/or hot tubs may be snowed in depending on how much snow any given storm produces. Shoveling may be required to gain access to the cabin. A snow shovel will be provided at the home, if you are unable to find a shovel please contact us so we may deliver one.

Tenants understand that Destination Big Bear LLC, its owners, employees and the homeowners (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are NOT responsible for any injury caused by slipping on snow or ice and that the tenants are responsible for the removal of snow and ice around the doorways and paths to house and car; that the Released Parties are not responsible for any personal injury or loss or damage to the tenants’ persons or property or to their guests and that the tenants assume the risk to their persons and property caused directly or indirectly from foul, inclement weather conditions, acts of nature, failure of heat, accidents related to fire, heaters, stoves, or hot tubs, tenants’ failure to remove snow and ice around access areas; for any unforeseeable circumstances. Under no circumstances will the tenants or their guests hold the Released Parties responsible for any damages or claims of any kind resulting from their stay. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

No refunds will be made for circumstances beyond our control, acts of nature, or weather related problems. If all three access roads to and from Big Bear are closed for more than four hours at the same time, then you may re-schedule your stay for another time in the same home, you will have to pay the price difference if the price is higher.

Fire Restrictions in the Big Bear Valley
Big Bear and Big Bear Lake visitors are reminded to exercise caution when visiting the National Forest and maintain a higher level of awareness with the increased fire risk. Travelers through the Forest should remain on designated roads and never park on dry brush or grass. Outdoor wood, charcoal, or campfires of any kind are not permitted. You may find a propane fire pit at the home. However, this is for homeowner use ONLY.

Violation of these prohibitions is subject to punishment by a fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not more than six months or both, as Class B misdemeanors under federal law. The place is a little rough around the edges but Dedtination Big Bear was upfront about it. The place does have good views, but the walk to the lake doesn't mean as much since there's no good spots to swim. However, still a great cabin for a lot of friends especially if you're staying while being money conscious

Had an excellent time at Eagles Nest. The house is huge upstairs & downstairs. 3 separate bedrooms and bathrooms. It also had a sun room with 3 beds for sleeping. Multiple couches. The view was amazing, really enjoyed out time there and would recommend to friends!

Hi Bears! So, we had a good time but... Besides the issues with the uncomfortable beds: there are less beds than appear on the listing or pictures, a lof of beds have metal strings and hard mattresses. ... The slow Wifi and the issues with the heaters at the house, (we got 3 small heaters after brought to us :) because the whole bottom floor was freezing and wouldnt get warmer, not even at the time we left (4 days after); The toilets and showers had really slow pressure, which when its a house for at least 10 people, you need to make sure this is the number 1 priority! Also, not enough towels for everyone for 4 days! Plus there is a jacuzzi at the house! (Anyways, we brought our own, but we all though there should have been some more). We think there should have been snow shovels as well because when we first got to the house, not all of our cars were 4x4, and even with chains, they werent able to go all the way to the house. We had issues with our cars getting stacked on the middle of the drive way since its a hill, and we had to move our cars for the snow remover truck to come clear the snow (Which we think it shouldve been done before). We ended up pushing the car up the hill, taking risks of hurting ourselves and almost damaging the wood fence! We wouldve loved to move the pool table also, because its blocking the comfortable way of playing pool properly, but we didnt because of the previous notes on the house. Other than that, everything beautiful and we love Big Bear and the location of the house. Destination Big Bear was nice as well. Enjoyed the 15%Rental Gear Discount as well! Thank you!

My group of 10 (plus our little pup) found the eagles next to far exceed our expectations! Million dollar view of the lake from either the front bay window or from the spacious jacuzzi on the patio. Between board games and watching movies my friends and I had a great time with fooz and ping pong tables! We definitely can not wait to return.

My guests and I had a great time. The house is a great value for the price. The house is nice and spacious and has amazing views of the lake. There is plenty of outdoor space to hang out and play around in the snow. And the views are amazing!

A funky rambling large house. My group of nine loved the gorgeous lake views, the spa, and homey feel. Love the quiet North Shore location. Thanks for a great weekend!
