Just an hour from London, this stylish Surrey Hills barn is perfectly placed for exploring some of Surrey and Hampshire's most beautiful landscapes—from the Devil’s Punchbowl and Frensham Ponds to charming market towns and excellent country pubs.

The space
An elegant countryside retreat set in the heart of the Surrey Hills, The Barn offers a peaceful escape with an abundance of things to see and do right on the doorstep. Walk straight into the breathtaking Devil’s Punchbowl, explore the Sculpture Park, Thursley Nature Reserve or Hankley Common, or spend relaxed afternoons at Frensham Ponds or Alice Holt Forest.

For a change of pace, the nearby market towns of Farnham, Godalming and Haslemere offer independent shops, cafés and a quintessentially English feel, while Guildford and Petersfield are within easy reach for something a little larger. The coast at West Wittering and the historic city of Chichester are also just an hour away, making for an easy day trip.

The Barn is also ideally located for several of the area’s most sought-after wedding venues, as well as trips to Goodwood and the New Forest—perfect for extending your stay or planning a wider getaway.

The space
The Barn is a thoughtfully designed, self-contained space offering comfort, simplicity and a sense of calm. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, it’s a place to slow down and recharge after a day of walking, sightseeing, or local celebrations.

Inside, you’ll find a comfortable king-size bed, along with a queen-size sofa bed suitable for one adult or two children under 12—ideal for couples, solo travellers, or small families. If you’d like the sofa bed prepared for your stay, this can be arranged for an additional £15—please request this at the time of booking.

The kitchen area includes a Nespresso machine for easy mornings, and to welcome you, a light breakfast is provided for your first day, including tea, coffee, milk and fresh pastries or bread.

Outside, there is a relaxed sofa seating area—perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or unwinding in the evening after a day out. There are also several excellent country pubs within a 10-minute drive, ideal for long lunches or cosy dinners.

Guest access
Set apart from the main house, the Barn offers privacy. While there is no private garden, there is a comfortable seating area outside the barn and guests can step straight out to nearby walking routes, including access towards the Devil’s Punchbowl—one of the area’s most beautiful natural landmarks.

Other things to note
The Barn is designed for those who appreciate switching off. Mobile signal can be limited and the TV is modest, but in return you’ll find fresh country air, peaceful surroundings, and wonderfully clear night skies—ideal for stargazing.

For food lovers, there is also the opportunity—subject to availability—to arrange a relaxed dining experience with a French private chef. Expect simple yet beautifully prepared options, from charcuterie-style sharing platters to summer BBQ favourites.

Please note that the property sits alongside a small country road, typically quiet, particularly at night. On rare occasions, traffic may increase if the nearby Hindhead Tunnel is closed.

Countryside location in the Surrey Hills, triangulated between Haslemere, Farnham and Godalming with Guildford just 25 mins up the A3. The local village, Thursley, with its country pub is a 20 min walk and 2 mins away by car and Elstead Village is about 10 mins drive away and has a Spar & pharmacy for essentials.

Hankley Common and Thursley Common are on the doorstep, along with the The Devils Punchbowl which you can walk to from the Barn. All are perfect for walking, hiking, cycling, horse-riding, exploring and getting out and about and enjoying the fresh air. Bourne Woods, Frensham Ponds, Waggoners Wells, Alice Holt Forest and Winkworth Arboritum are all easily accessible.

Cain Manor, a rustic barn wedding venue is a 10 minute drive away.

Other popular attractions - Greyfrairs Vineyard, is a 15 minutes drive and Goodwood, a 45 minutes away.
