Description

The space

Purpose built log cabin with a triple sleeper, a single bed over a standard size double pocket sprung bed for a peaceful nights sleep, en-suite. There is room for an extra airbed if you wanted to accommodate a 4th person. The space is en suite with a toilet and wash basin and also has a clean and spacious walk in shower with a BEAB approved safe shower from the Mira range... regardless of water demand in other areas, the shower will constantly provide the temperature you have selected. Little details that make a big difference.

Your hosts are on hand just the same as if you were staying in a room in our cottage but you have the added privacy of being in the garden, and your own bathroom.

The cabin doors open out onto a veranda, then down the steps you come to a grassed area, and access to our garden where you can enjoy a cup of tea by the brook you can turn right and meet the chickens and goat!

Please read our reviews to see what others have thought of the cabin, and the hosts!

Guest access

Guests are welcome to walk around the garden but please observe any obstacles we have placed to contain the goat, and please note the chicken fences when in use are live. If you have children staying with you, if requested, we will switch the fences off during daylight hours.

Interaction with guests

You will get the same level of helpful service as if you were staying in our house whilst benefiting from a better level of comfort and privacy which comes with the cabin.

The neighbourhood

We are located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and are surrounded by public footpaths enabling you to explore the countryside and access some very old stones, wells etc.

Getting around

There are always pleny of taxis available when you step off the train, and the bus station is right next door to the rail terminus.

From Penzance bus station, you can take the 10A bus to Newbridge, asking the driver to drop you off at the Sancreed turn just after Newbridge village (second Newbridge stop) - that will place you 50-60 feet from our home.

Alternatively, we are also happy to collect from the station on your arrival day and drop back to the station on your departure day, either you, your luggage, or both.

The cottage was warm and welcoming! I stayed there with two guy friends and ended up sleeping on the couch which was incredibly comfortable. The guys said the beds were great too. Ros was a wonderful, attentive host, very easy to communicate with and so very kind. Very glad I booked this place!

The cabin is cosy, but worked well as a small family overnight stop next to the soothing stream. Flexibility on arrival time when the sun came out was much appreciated.

Ros was an amazing host and went above an beyond by recommending a taxi service, assisting with meals and even giving me a lift to the ferry. I chose airbnb as I wanted an authentic experience and I was delighted to get just that.

Rural scenic area, lots of animals around (but no bother), nice stream nearby that sounds inside the cabin like it's mildly raining, very comforting.

Ros was a great host. She picked me up from the station in Penzance when I arrived and offered to drive me back or pick me up if I got stranded. The cabin was private, clean and a delight to stay in. It is set in a wonderful garden with chickens and goats and a brook babbling by. It's on a main road which is a bit noisy but I soon got used to it. I walked the SW Coast Path which was easy to get to by public transport. The bus stop is very close and buses are reliable and punctual. From the cabin, there are lanes and footpaths. The only problem is eating - it would have been nice to eat in the cabin, especially if you don't have a car and can't get out at night.

The En-suite rural Garden Cabin was fidel to the description, in a wonderful nature-garden place with the chickens around, and the small Stream by :) really appreciated for nature-lovers :) The cabin is really cosy (just be aware you might find the bathroom really cold !) Ros was friendly and really helpful, giving us tips to go around. The possibility to use the kitchen and having the breakfast there is really a plus! We had a great time there and would recommend this place!

Response from Ros:
Thank for your nice review, and yes, i noticed the bathroom was rather cold the other day, and straight away booked the electrician - we are getting a heated towel rail fitted so then it should be nice and toasty.

Set in rural penwith, our pretty little chocolate box cottage is an ideal retreat, situated 2.9 miles from the main A30, offering you peace and quiet within a short distance of the main harbour town of Penzance. Nestled behind a babbling brook, the cottage offers cosy bedrooms for a good night's sleep! It is very quiet and peaceful here. Buffet style continental breakfast is included, special requirements can be catered for, please just ask.

There is a main bus route (10/240) from Penzance bus station that stops just 30 metres before our address. Ample parking is available at the property for those travelling by car.

Other local amenities include the Fountain Inn, down in the village, about 1/4 mile away, and numerous public footpaths providing routes to Morvah, Pendeen and Sancreed. Ancient monuments nearby include Lanyon Quoit near Pendeen, St Uny Well in sancreed, Standing stones and Men an Tol to mention just a few.
