The space

Ours is a country home built over a span of 16 years. Humbleness aside, the house is as interesting and intriguing as a top-end Andean hacienda can get.

Location: The property is a 5 minute drive from the quaint town of Yaruqui in the foothills of the Puntas mountain. You are surrounded by agriculture estates offering the peace of the countryside. The property location is fantastic as it is in close proximity to the new airport, to Quito, to National Parks, and important regional towns that can be easily accesible during day trips.

Nearby Sites: Only 15 mins away from Quito's new airport, the house sits at the footsteps of the Puntas, the Andean mountain that hovers above the town of Yaruqui, a small rural town North East of Quito. In driving distance are the malls/supermarkets, cinemas, high-end restaurants of Cumbaya (25 mins), hot-springs of Papallacta (35 mins), the Lake San Pablo (1 hr) and the indigeneous city and famous crafts market of Otavalo (1.5 hours). National Parks of Cayambe, Cotopaxi, can be accesed during day trips as well.

Property Description: Our house is the proud product of the fusion of the property's owners/creators: an Interior Designer Artist and a Real Estate developer. The house was conceptualised gradually and developed over many years. There are many ambiences within the property offering residential and social comfort. The spaces mix the best of colonial and modern architecture bringing the external elements of nature into the house. Interiors play with the curated gardens and planted fields and offer vast views of the Andes.

Exteriors: The property offers designed/curated gardens with +23 different tree species; it grows its own produce including avocados, tangerines, peaches, all kinds of vegetables; a doll-house and swing sets for children; a soccer/volleyball grass field; several internal trails to walk; vast fields where planted grains are harvested.

Interiors: The house offers taste and comfort. Exposed brick, tall walls, ample windows that bring in the greenery of gardens, lots of light, and fresh smells. The house tends to be warm in the day and is airy and fresh. There are ample social areas and a terrace spa or jacuzzi that is best enjoyed during night.

Social Areas: There is a vast L-shaped outdoor/indoor porch to spend lazy afternoons, eat outside, vegetate away with board games and have Sundowners drinks. This porch has an external dining table that seats +14 people. The corridors guard the interiors that can be seen through tall floor-to-ceiling windows. On the porch is the "horno de pan" for scrumptious food preparing and oven baked pizzas. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking facilities [fridge, stove, electrical oven, toaster oven, etc] and an ample dining table. There are two indoors living rooms, one is equipped with a fire place, an spacious lobby, and a dining room that seats over 14 people. The terrace floor offers vast views of the valley and has a jacuzzi at the center and a large fire place. There are tanning chairs, a dining table for chilling under the sun or stars.

Bedrooms: There are a total of 6 bedrooms in the property, 4 have ensuite full bathrooms:

1. "Family Room": queen bed and two small children beds
2. "Modern Loft": two semi-full beds and a queen sofa-bed
3. "Master Bedroom": queen bed and antique balcony
4. "Gallery Room": two semi-full beds and vast views of Puntas
5. "Study Room": two twin beds within old school library
6. "Cottage Room" detached from the house with twin bunk beds

The house offers many other ammenities, including:

Logistics: The property is easily accessed with a taxi cab from the new airport, rental car or arranged van services. There are public bus transport but it could be overly complicated with luggage so we would definitely recommend arranging private transportation.

Local Restaurants: The town of Yaruqui can be used for basic supplies or for typical Ecuadorian food restaurants. The town is rural and simple. As noted, 25 minutes away, the Quito suburb of Cumbaya offers all kinds of international cuisine ranging from Sushi, Oriental, Italian to American, Comfort, Pub food. There are high-end gourmet shops on the way and several supermarkets for shopping.

House Rules

1. This home and its gardens have been taken care off for years and we thus expect to bring high quality guests into the house

2. We believe the house best suits families or adult groups who know how to travel and are wordly

3. We prefer to keep smoking outside in the gardens or terrace so the interiors are fresh and safe

4. You are expected to leave the property in great conditions and report any damage - the house is filled of antigue rugs, furniture and thus expect it will be taken care off

5. We want people to enjoy Ecuador and the region and thus want respectfull individuals who will treat the staff with care

6. All food/transport/tourism arrangements, unless pre-agreed and paid for, are responsibility of the guests

In all, we want the house to be treated like your own.
