’Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the zoo, not a creature was stirring—not even the black howler monkeys, sea lions, and kangaroos. Every winter, the Houston Zoo and its more than 6,000 animals get that festive feeling when the park undergoes its annual holiday makeover. During this Houston tradition (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas),

I can easily say that this has been my best AirBnB experience. Everything about it was perfect right from the hosts- Linda and Joe, to the facilities, to the cleanliness, to the amenities. Its just the place one would want to stay at. I would highly recommend Linda and Joe's place to anyone looking to have a warm family oriented place.

Linda and Joe were such gracious hosts. The house is very clean, quiet and comfortable complete with private bedrooms, Keurig coffeemaker, and a mini fridge full of goodies. Linda made a broccoli and cheese quiche that was absolutely delicious. I was here to work my first week of a new job and a was a perfect place to relax after a hectic, stressful day.

I'll start off by saying, spend the extra money and stay in an actual apartment, especially if you plan to rent this space for a long term stay. I stayed with Linda and Joe this past summer during my internship. Upon arrival, Linda was very friendly and made my mom feel that I would be in good hands while I was there. That quickly changed as the weeks went on. The amenities such as the hosts kitchen and laundry room were availiable at the hosts whim. Initially I was given permission to use the kitchen to cook large meals, but the host changed their mind within the first few weeks of our stay. I could use the hot plate, microwave and small oven that were available up stairs but within minutes of cooking , the power would go out upstairs every time I used these amenities. Unless you plan to eat out everyday and constantly go outside to flip the circuit, I would not stay here. Additionally, the laundry room was only available certain hours of the day due to the fact that host's air was out for the first few weeks and that it was right next to the hosts room. I was told to be done washing by 6pm, which was nearly impossible considering I left work by 5pm and that I often travel on the weekends. There were three specific instances that led to me to leave this space two weeks before my booking was over. Firstly, the host had entered my room without my knowledge to make the bed and "check things out" even when my door was locked. The house rules do state that the host may enter for emergency purposes, but this was no emergency. I felt that my privacy was violated and I expressed this to the host who agreed to inform me before entering again. Secondly, the host had her grandkids come stay with her for what would have been that last 3 weeks of my stay. The space that was supposed to be suitable for study and work quickly turned into a noisy children's playroom. The host also asked me to move my food items out of reach of the children in the upstairs tv room. Although, I was under the impression that upstairs area was strictly for air bnb guests. Thirdly, the host accused me and another intern who was renting there of damaging her couch and proceeeded to take pictures of the couch while I was sitting at the table upstairs. The host had already informed me that the couch was in poor condition because the leather was peeling off and she had covered it with curtains to "reupholster" it. This is what finally led me to contact air bnb who facilitated the refund for my last two weeks. If I could do it all over again I would have definitely rented an apartment or extended stay hotel for the summer.

Linda is a super host. She is really nice and take care everything nicely. She is good in communication. If you have any question, do ask her and she will give you many great answers. The house is clean and nice. The room is beautiful and it look exactly the same as the picture. There is also a small kitchen and Linda also gives you some eggs or sandwiches and you don't have to worry about your breakfast. The area upstair in the house is nice. If you need a place for a group of people who need more than one room in a house, Linda's house is good choice. The area around the house is beautiful but you should rent a car because there no public transportation. Five stars are not too much for Linda. Come and join the house with her.

Linda and Joe are amazing hosts! They are very welcoming, kind and knowledgable about the area. The bedrooms, bathroom and living room were incredibly clean and comfortable. My girlfriend and I felt like we were staying at a cozy relative's place as opposed to an airbnb! There are restaurants, grocery stores and other necessary places nearby so it's convenient to get anything you may need. Anyone travelling to the Houston area should definitely stay here, you won't regret it!
