A light-filled house in a friendly, foodie neighborhood. Professional chefs kitchen, herb garden, unique contemporary design. Peaceful, quiet and very safe. Excellent transport and lots of green spaces outside the door, delis, boutiques, bakeries, coffee houses a five minute walk down the hill.

I am a commercial interior designer who also runs a cooking school. The house is eclectic in design - art from friends and some of my own, antiques - mostly chinese, and lots of colour everywhere.

The space

The loft bedroom is entered through a door on the first floor and up a
narrow staircase - totally private. The ensuite is open plan, with a bath, shower, large sink, toilet and bum wash with plenty of room for storage of
toiletries.

There are two skylights, two triple pane french doors that lead to two
juliette balconies with a very urban view and morning sun. The bed is a
king size, with 100% cotton sheets and anti-allergy pillows. There are 3
big wardrobes for clothing storage.

Guest access

top floor bedroom (private with door at the bottom of the stairs), kitchen, dining sitting room, garden, terrace, laundry facilities.

Interaction with guests

when working, i will not be chatting away with the guests; i just chain myself to the drawing board in the studio. the kitchen is where we will usually end up congregating and having a glass of wine.

Other things to note

the house is very quiet - ticked away behind a block of flats. great for people who love to sleep, read, daydream, meditate.

there are a lot of stairs - at the entrance, eight up, eight down. in the house there are three floors. ground, first, second.

My husband and I stayed at Tertia's flat for 1 month while we looked for our own place as we were moving to London. As a chef, I loved cooking in the fully-equipped kitchen! The garden is a lovely spot to enjoy your breakfast or dinner. We stayed in the ensuite loft bedroom that is bright and airy and features full-length windows, which can easily be opened to let in the summer breeze. There's also plenty of storage closets for your clothes. Tertia was very helpful in our own apartment search and gave us lots of advice. She is a very friendly and lively person. The flat itself is located in a fantastic neighborhood with many cafes and restaurants and just a 10-minute walk to Clapham Junction. Plus there are many bus routes here. The only issue someone might have is that you have to climb two-flights of stairs to reach the loft bedroom. We had 6 suitcases with us so that was a bit difficult to do. All in all, a stay here is highly recommended!

I and my girlfriend lived in Tertia's house for two months. It is really happy two months for both of us. Firstly, Tertia's house is very well located, just 5 minutes walk to the Clapham Junction which is the transportation centre of Battersea, you can take trains to Victoria and Waterloo, the overground to Shepherd's Bush for just few minutes, and there is train directly going to Gatwick Airport as well. The nearby environment of the house is safe and quiet as there are lots of public park and commons, you can own some fresh air, which is rare in London city centre, and it is a very good choice to do some jogging in the morning. Secondly, every corner of the house is carefully designed, especially the kitchen, Tertia has everything you need. Living in Tertia's house just like a world food tour, she is not only a foodie but also a fabulous chef, she can cook Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian food and so forth. Cooking books for most of the cuisines in the world can be found in the house. We even learned how to make an authentic Italian pizza from her, that was loads of fun. Finally and most importantly, Tertia is a fantastic host whom everyone will like, she is always optimistic, independent and brave, we learned a lot from her. Moreover, she is very helpful, when I said I needed a desk to study in my bedroom, Tertia designed a desk for me using her expertise in designing, eventually the desk was functional and worked very well. We have great fun with Tertia in the house, there are lots of stories can be told, we really miss the time we cooked, drank and talked together. we began to miss the house when we just left it. So I recommend Tertia's house to all the single or couple travellers who would like to enjoy their stay in London, and certainly when we go back to London, we really want that Tertia can host us again. Take care, Tertia, see you in China in the future. Kang and Ting

My husband and me have stayed at Tertia's beautiful home for one month and had a wonderful time. Tertia is the most welcoming, warm hearted, helpful, supporting and fun host ever! From the very beginning, she has been responding to all our questions via airbnb very quickly and the booking process has been very easy. She has made us feel home from the first minute. The house and interior is exactly as pictured in the images: spacious, bright, modern and clean. Our top floor bedroom with ensuite bathroom was perfect for a month's stay with lots of storage and fresh towels and bed sheets provided. Since the house is not directly located on the road, we enjoyed the rare luxury of quietness in London including a wonderful sunny garden. We loved being at Tertia's and recommend it to everyone who is thinking about coming to London. We really enjoyed it. Thanks so much Tertia!

Tertia was simply the perfect host. She was available when we needed her but would also let us have our privacy; she provided excellent suggestions of what we could do locally and further afield in London; she was flexible with her own schedule to better fit in with ours; she took into account our preferences when providing excellent breakfasts. We found Tertia welcoming, warm and friendly, and thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. The house is a short (5-10 minute) walk from Clapham Junction railway station which is served by Waterloo and Victoria and so it is very easy to get from Tertia’s house into the centre of the city and back again at the end of the day. If you don’t want to travel, you can walk to pubs and a range of places to eat in five minutes from the house. The property is ideally located. The room itself is large and airy with large windows and skylights. The ensuite is large and modern. The whole house has been beautifully decorated with a distinct style - it is definitely a designer’s house! We thoroughly enjoyed staying with Tertia at her beautiful house and would stay there again without hesitation.

Our stay at Tertia's beautiful home was incredible! Her place is light and airy, the garden is irresistible, the room is very comfortable and Tertia is a really great host. She is very welcoming and makes you feel totally at ease, going out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. She serves up tasty dishes in the designer kitchen, shares recipes, interesting stories, and ensures you have lots of privacy too. The neighbourhood is great - close to lots of cool restaurants, pubs and shops, aswell as Clapham train station. I would highly recommend a stay at Tertia's, we will return here next time were in London! Thank you Tertia, from Dan & Kel!
