The neighbourhood

Luarca is a historic whaling port,in Valdes,Asturias, with the ancient coastal pilgrim route of "Santiago de Compostela" going through it.An excellent base for exploring the fabulous beaches, mountains, towns & villages.Stunning scenery, flowers, birds and quaint architecture.Luarca is called the little white town ,it is very pretty and is all lit up at night. There is a great little market on Wednesdays and a daily fish market when the fleet comes in.Visit the Picos de Europa and enjoy the walks .Asturias has a stunning coast line and is a great place for surfing,Otur,Barayo and many more.

Getting around

Asturias airport is 35 mins by car, there is a railway station and regular buses.
I would recommend a car though so that you can explore all the off beat places.Excellent main road running from north to south.

Other things to note

The property is approached via stone steps from the street below or you can park further up and walk down the little lane.Parking can be found in the square, harbour or along the beach side. All facilities are close at hand with the tourist office in the Plaza 5 mins away.

Luarca is a very friendly and (URL HIDDEN) is old fashioned and delightful place and I would ask that guests are respectful of the neighbours and the property .Please switch the hot water off when you have heated it because the utility bills are very expensive!Guests are asked to strip the beds prior to leaving and to leave the cottage clean and in good order.
