About this listing
Enjoy the whole of the magnificent Lario/Lake Como area from this charming base on the oldest street in the Centro Storico. It's just 3-4 minutes walk from the Lake and the ferries, and 2 minutes from the Piazza Duomo where you can immerse yourself in history as you enjoy an aperitivo.
As Franz Liszt said, "When you write the story of two happy lovers, let the story be set on the banks of Lake Como"
I look forward to hearing from you.
Elegant home minutes from the Lago on a very 'particular' street in the Centro Storico. I'm a writer so my huge library is yours. Original artwork, designer kitchen and bespoke furnishings make for a delicious retreat. Internet, TV, all region DVD but you'll want to open the windows and listen to the conversations happening in the street below. Cafes, restaurants, traditional barbershop, shoes and clothes shops line the street .... and you'll have a medieval mural greeting you when you open the shutters in the bedroom. So much atmosfera, and romance.
I fell in love with the Lario/Lake Como when I first visited. I fell in love with Via Vitani the first time I walked down it. I was told it was the oldest street in the Centro Storico and very 'particular'. After a decade I'm still enamoured. There are cafes, my favourite restaurant in Como, Gallo (def reserve in advance), a bookshop, an amazing art gallery and a vintage jewelley shop which is as opulent as a gallery. And the list goes on .....
It's an extremely easy walk from either railway station in Como: Como San Giovanni (10 mins) or Como Lago (10 minutes). Via Vitani like most of the Centro Storico is fully pedestrianised.
Milan is served by 3 (three) airports, Milan Malpensa (MXP), Milan Linate (LIN) and Bergamo (Orio).
The apartment is about 60-80 minutes from all using rail services.
Obviously it's much quicker by taxi or rental car.
