Greenwood Studio is tucked back from the street behind a wall of lush bamboo. It's private and quiet. Your windows look out onto the roof deck, where you will often see hummingbirds feeding from the nearby flowers. You can let in lots of sunlight by opening the blinds, or maintain your privacy and sleep late by drawing the curtains.
You'll have your own entrance to a fully separate studio unit. We live directly above the studio so you may see us coming and going. We're happy to say hi and point you to some of our favorite Bay Area attractions or to leave you to your own devices.
Private studio, including private bathroom and closet. Shared roof deck.
The Studio has a keypad lock, which allows us to be very flexible with Check-In and Check-Out timing. One of the key benefits of our space is that you can come and go at any hour without disturbing us. Let us know what time you'd like to check in or out at the beginning and end of your stay, and we will accommodate you! We will send you a unique code for the lock on Check-In day.
To get to the Greenwood Studio entrance:
From Greenwood Avenue, take the stairs to the right of the garage. The garages will be on your left, the bamboo hedge will be on your right. Just past the roof deck, the entrance to the studio is the first red door on your left.
Interaction with guests
It's really up to you! You'll have your own private entrance to the studio, so you can choose to see us or not. We both work long hours, so we tend to be around only on weekends or late weekday evenings. We may run into each other on the roof deck, as we enjoy eating meals out there. We make it a point to be quick to respond to messages through the airbnb app, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!
Other things to note
There is usually street parking within a few doors of the studio.
The patio is shared space and you should feel free to enjoy it, but we ask that loud conversations be kept to a minimum in the community spaces between 10pm and 8am.
No Pets. The neighbors have indoor/outdoor cats who are curious and may come in your door if you leave it open :)
Our neighborhood has trash, recycling and compost pick up. Please remove any food trash when you check out, the bins are on Greenwood Ave just up the hill past the mailboxes in a lattice enclosure.
We offer dishes for you to use during your stay, please make use of the sponge and soap provided to wash them after use, and use the dish towels to dry.
Right now the only window that opens is the window by the leather arm chairs. Please make sure to lock it when you leave for your daily adventures. If you'd like more fresh air when you are in the room, feel free to leave the front door open. The walkway isn't very busy, so you won't be disturbed by the neighbors.
Hannah & Forrest met while studying theater in undergrad in Boston, MA. We fell in love while hosting a series of Monday night "family" dinners for our friends. We moved to Oakland in 2014 to follow Forrest's startup. Hannah grew up in the Bay Area, and was happy to return to the land of nature-tastic hikes, breath-taking ocean views, and mouth-watering farmers markets.
These days Hannah is an actress and a Fitness & Nutrition Coach, and Forrest is a self taught web developer and entrepreneur currently working on a legal startup.
We love meeting new people, sharing stories of travel, and we are serious (though unpretentious) foodies. We have had great experiences as guests in the Airbnb community, and we are so excited to open our space as hosts.
