The place was lovely. We arrived late, much later than we anticipated, and Stephen had fallen asleep on his couch. But he was most charming when he awoke. I would give our room and bathroom a 6 for cleanliness if I could. When we awoke, he was already working out back. He stopped and showed us around and chatted. It was as if we were staying and catching up with an old friend. He gave us great suggestions for breakfast and places to go in the Hudson Valley. We will definitely be back.

staying at Stephens place was an absolute charm - we booked early morning on the Saturday last minute and arrived later that afternoon - we had little expectations as it was a last minute trip - but we had the most amazing few days. The place was lovely and we had access to the whole house and grounds including fire pit and BBQ. the room was clean and cosy and with AC - thank goodness - and stephen even let us have the use of his car for the few days we were there. It was a very peaceful spot and we went fishing to the nearby pond and hiked breakneck ridge nearby. Stephen even bought out fireworks for us during our fire pit BBQ in the eve. He is a very friendly guy and will give you complete privacy or some welcome local recommendations and a few glasses of wine. We will be going back again - so close to NYC and easy to get to - we were well looked after and felt genuinely recharged after our trip. Thank you stephen!!

Stephen was very quick to respond to us, which I loved. We arrived late to Quiet country room on our way home to Northern Virginia. This was a place for us to rest our heads on a long drive back from Canada. It perfectly served that purpose. Unfortunately, I did not meet Stephen in person, but I will describe my experience: We ended up changing our arrival time from 10 p.m. to 9 p.m. because of traffic/stops. Stephen said that was fine and the door would be unlocked. He instructed us to not lock the door behind us as the other guests would not be back yet. When we arrived, we were the only car parked in the driveway. The lights were on in the house. We left the door open as instructed, and left the lights on for the other guests, assuming they would arrive after us. I never heard the other guests come in, and woke up many times during the night due to a thunderstorm. I also had a bit of anxiety about sleeping with the door unlocked and the lights were still on downstairs- it seemed as though the guests had never come home (lights still on, no car in driveway). I am one to always turn all house lights off and lock up before bed. That was a bit uncomfortable for me. Other than feeling a bit vulnerable, the room was a good place to rest for the night. If it wasn't pounding rain above our heads extremely loudly, we probably would have slept well through the night as the bed was very comfortable.

Stephen is extremely welcoming and a good energy easy going guy. The room is uncluttered, the bed is comfortable and the temperature of the room is perfect. The house is in a beautiful tree filled setting in what feels super deep in the woods but isn't hard to find or get to. Awesome place to stay overall!

Stephen was a very accommodating and generous host. I showed up a little early than I initially indicated and he not only was able to get the room ready but offered an upgrade to the available suite at no additional cost. Our experience was private and the setting beautiful. Conveniently located between Cold Spring and Beacon. I would heartily recommend.
