This home is located in the lower Oakland hills in a peaceful and racially diverse Maxwell Park neighborhood. Mills campus and swimming pool is walking distance, and it's driving distance to SF and Berkeley. For a deposit, you can bring a dog or two along with you - ten minutes up in the hills there are hundreds of miles of off-leash hiking trails in the National Redwood Forest for you to explore. But, please no cats as we are allergic to them.
This is a sweet old bungalow made in the year 1918. The living room and dining room have hardwood floors. There is lots of natural light, and every afternoon, even on the hottest days, a nice breeze comes through the house.
You may use all rooms in the house, the backyard, and the art studio in the backyard. In each room I will clear space in the closets so you have a place to put your things. Towels are in the closet.
Interaction with guests
If you are staying in the house it means that I'm out of town. We can coordinate how to get the keys to you. I can give you recommendations on where to eat and what to do if you wish. Also, if you're open, the neighbors are friendly and communicative - they'd be happy to let you know what's going on in town.
Other things to note
There is a lot of entertainment in the house for kids about ages 2 - 12. There's a swing in the backyard, games, and a slide coming off the deck. There is also a park about three blocks over. The tv has a built in DVD player and there are even some DVDs. There is wifi.
Please: No loud music, heavy drinking, or drugs. Moderate music is fine, and you can have friends or family over for a meal. Please don't let them stay the night and no more than four people. The neighbors are very close so we need to keep it respectful.
* No smoking indoors.
Lastly, I'm flexible about check-out and check-in when/if it works with other guests and the cleaning people.
