Pat's place itself is great. He provides his guests with anything they might need during their stay. However, the location is really not ideal. There is trash all over the street and my friends and I felt unsafe walking around. People who lived there that saw us outside literally told us that we should not be in that neighborhood because it was not safe. However, besides the location, Pat was a really great host and was very kind to us during our stay.

Response from Pat C:
Hi, Thanks! Regarding your last point -- we actually have a 100% safety record after three years and over 3,000 guests! I want to make that very clear. Airbnb would not allow us to operate if there was ever any issue with that. This is a major Philadelphia train station, with police and shops everywhere, and yes there is some trash on the street. Sorry if it wasn't what you are used to!

Pat was nice and great at communications. The neighborhood was shady for most but normal for us. The place could use some remodeling and upkeep which according to what I paid to be of a bit of an over charge. If you are looking for a place with a bit more charm choose something more inner city otherwise this place will suit you fine.

Great and economic place! Pat is there and is very respectful about private space. The location is not the best but has public transportation very near.

Overall: 5 stars. Pat was a courteous and organized host. The location is close to public transit, so it's a quick trip to the tourist attractions of Philly. The guest rooms are located up a flight of stairs (not handicap accessible) and there are two restrooms with one shower. The list of guidelines is tacked to the inside of the guest room door. I would visit this location again.

I am a 37 y.o. cultural anthropologist and native Philadelphian. I operate this small international hostel in a historic Philadelphia building, which functioned as a horse-stable in the 1920's and 1930's, until being renovated for human beings. We always have an interesting crowd here but, sorry -- no horses!

My 4 rooms are clean, quiet, private, and locking. Although not the most charming neighborhood in Philadelphia, the area between my home and the train station is safe, well-lit, and lined with active business and shops. It's a funky, eclectic, multi-ethnic train station area and I try to provide the most convenient, cheapest, and highest quality experience for my international guests.

Many of my guests become lifetime friends after they leave. I pride myself on being a professional Airbnb host, which is why so many travelers, tourists, students, and business people trust me to provide them with the most comfortable, convenient, low-cost option in Philadelphia.

Please take a look at all 4 of my rooms, and see which one is best for your needs.

I look forward to meeting you!
