About this listing

Modern, light, bright 'Upside down' house, cosy and snug, ideal for couples but with space for up 4 people across 2 comfortable bedrooms, one king size double and one with standard single bunk beds. Open-plan kitchen/living area upstairs. Balcony overlooks the Glaslyn estuary and the Ffestiniog railway. Fantastic location, Porthmadog has something for everyone to enjoy whether it be mountains walks, seaside, dining out, bars, shopping or use as a base for the Lleyn Peninsula.

The space

The bathroom and kitchen are streamlined and modern. The bedrooms on the ground floor are both light and airy and have storage heaters which come on during the night. Please note: We can supply basic bedding, but unfortunately not towels. Upstairs the living area is one compact open-plan area looking out over the balcony to stunning views of the estuary, mountains and sea. There is a small sofa, an armchair, TV, dining table and kitchen. The heater here has an integrated convector heater.

Guest access

All of the property is included in the rental apart from the under-stairs cupboard. For reasons of safety, please DO NOT USE the ladder fixed to the balcony. Please help yourself to any provisions in the cupboards such as tea, coffee, cooking oils, salt etc. If you need to access emergency reserves of bedding and towels please message me.

Interaction with guests

We live in Majorca and rely on our trusted housekeeping staff and caretakers to support us with our Airbnb, however I am contactable via a UK mobile phone, What's app, text and email during your stay for advice and support within reasonable hours, and I will do my best to coordinate help locally if you need it.
I usually message guest around tea-time on the day of arrival to make sure everything is ok.

Internet is broadband from our BT Hub. There is a laundrette in the town if you need to do some washing.
Please bring your own towels - basic clean bedlinen can be provided, if you prefer to bring your own please let me know.
Storage heaters work by using night-time economy 7 electricity. They come on at night and heat up while you sleep. The bedrooms are therefore lovely and warm when you wake and should stay warm all day.

This is our 'Home by the Sea' and we want you to feel welcome and at home. We trust that you will take a 'common sense' approach to any imperfections and bear in mind that it is our 'actual home' and not a hotel.
We rely totally on guests to respect the property and consider the needs of the next guests e.g. by making sure all washing up is done, some toilet roll left, etc.
If you do arrive and find any significant issues, please let me know as soon as you arrive and before you unpack. I can then liaise with the housekeeper to come round to the house and resolve the issue if contact is made at a reasonable time of day.
Please take good care of everything so that it is welcoming for the next guests, replace any consumables you have been using if they are completely used up or getting low, such as loo roll.
Please use bin liners/ carrier bags in the bins. We do not carry spare light bulbs due to the limited space in the house - if a light bulb blows replacement bulbs can be obtained from Wilkinsons in the town.

Lynn's place is absolutely beautiful with amazing breathtaking views. It is cosy and homely and very clean and comfortable. The FWH railway is right next door which adds to it's appeal, great fun watching the trains coming into the station. Restaurants shops and bars are within walking distance. We will be back!

Booked this apartment for the weekend. Amazing place in a great location especially if you are planning to climb Mount Snowdon. Communication with Lynn from the day we booked the place until we left was amazing and thoughtful. The place itself was clean and tidy but best of all had incredible views. Really enjoyed the morning walks to the harbour and local shops. I would definitely recommend this place

The Steam Train journey was excellant. I wowuld recommend the Sportsman Hotel Main street for an evening meal. The staff were pleasant and courteous. Disapointed with the Australia Bar- poor stock of spirits. The Refuse shed not easy to locate - it is near the Railway line.

Lynn's place is the most central location in Porthamdog. It is bang in the middle of the town centre in close proximity to all supermarkets and takeaways. The property is very well maintained, clean and it has all the right ingredients to be called an upscale property. The flat is right besides the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways station which takes you through the mountains of Wales in the oldest steam engine train which is a bit of heritage. From the balcony of the property you can view the start of the steam train disappearing into the mountains which is a breathtaking view. Harlech beach is about 20 minutes drive which was a spectacular beach and a must visit. The communication with Lynn was spot on always and she ensured we were comfortable during our entire stay. This is a perfect location for your trip to the majestic Snowdonia.

Lynn is a wonderful host; warm communication, and most thoughtful and considerate - nothing is too much trouble. Her home is absolutely delightful. The highlight for me was the ever changing, breath-taking view from the balcony ( including a delightful steam railway with its comforting " toot toot " every so often during the day! ).Great central location, with free parking ( a real bonus these days ). I would thoroughly recommend Lynn's place, particularly for couples who are looking for a cosy nest to snuggle down into after a busy day exploring the beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much Lynn, for making this such a special stay. I'll be back! :)

My husband Clive and I moved to Majorca in March and run our holiday let with the help of our housekeeping company based in the town of Porthmadog. We have travelled worldwide as guests with Airbnb many times - we are very excited now to be offering our own 'home by the sea' for Airbnb guests to enjoy. Location, comfortable beds, a well-equipped modern kitchen and bathroom are most important to me and I have prioritised these features in our house.
