The space

This apartment is a big, sunny apartment with a terrace, a view on the Golden Horn and on the skyline of the historical peninsula (Topkapi seraglio, Hagia Sophia basilica, the Blue Mosque, the Galata tower). It has a huge living room with an internal garden, two bedrooms with a terrace, an open kitchen, a bathroom and also another separate toilet. It is very central, situated in Cihangir, in the middle of the cultural and artistic district of Istanbul, with art galeries, movie theaters, coffee shops, small restaurants, grosseries where intellectuals and artists meet. In spite of being situated in a very animated district the apartment is very quiet. It is a 7 mn walk to the metro (Taksim), 10 minutes walk to the sea side and to the Orhan Pamuk's (the Nobel priced writer) Museum of Innocence and to Istanbul Modern museum, to ARTER and SALT the newly created contemporary art galeries.

This is a large, bright, well-appointed, 2-bedroom apartment within a 15-minute walk of busy Taksim square and Istanbul’s fast, efficient Tramway (pronounced ‘Tramvay’). The balcony offers a spectacular view over neighboring rooftops of old Istanbul, the Bosporus and the Golden Horn. The apartment building is equipped with an elevator. The owner made arrangements for us to be welcomed by a French-speaking neighbor, and we enjoyed our stay. The owner of the pharmacy downstairs speaks English and is charming, and willing to offer help and advice. The location is ideal for young and energetic visitors, as Cihangir is full of cafés and restaurants. Others may find the nightlife noisy. Note: walking is not easy here, as sidewalks are uneven, crowded and often non-existent. The traffic is intense, with vehicles of all kinds darting in and out from all directions, but pedestrians are generally respected. This part of Istanbul is built on steep hills, and the climbs can be exhausting for older persons, or for those with baggage, strollers or small children. On the other hand, you get the feeling that Istanbul and its residents welcome tourists and treat them well.

Great neighborhood! Nice bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood, but still quiet at night. A good location to explore Istanbul. The view on the city is fabulous.

L'appartement de Nora est super! Nous y avons passé un séjour très agréable avec ma famille. Le quartier est très sympa, tout est à proximité (tram, cafés, lieux à visiter, etc.) La vue sur Istanbul de la terrasse était magnifique! Merci encore!
