Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
A stylish, centrally located apartment that really does have the biggest - and most comfortable - bed you will sleep in. Minutes from Sydney's Downtown area and only 400 meters (430 yards) from Redfern Station which gives fast access to all of Sydney. The Opera House and Harbour Bridge are both an easy 40 minute walk, or ten minutes on the City Circle train from Redfern.

The space
Welcome to the United Nations of Redfern!

In the past four years, we have welcomed people from every continent (except Antarctica!)

Please note. If you are booking for January 14 or January 21, 2018 the checkin time is midday, not 10am.

We have hosted Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, atheists and probably other faiths. All have been welcomed, and everyone always will be at my place. Very GLBTI-friendly. Very straight friendly too! During these times when the world is on edge, travel is a wonderful way for people to connect.

From the pictures of the bedroom, it's hard to gauge just how big that bed is. It really is the biggest bed you will see. It's 230cm x 205cm or 90.5" x 81". Huge and comfortable.

Downtown is on your doorstep! From the rooftop herb and flower garden, you can watch the sun set over the city to the immediate north. The proximity to the city is one of the key reasons why people choose my apartment, and we installed double glazing and heavy drapes to create an urban oasis. Guests often write in the reviews how calm and welcoming they find the space.

• Secure undercover parking is available - shared between our other apartments. If you want to park, please inquire about availability before booking.

• Check-in is 10am and checkout is 8am. This allows us to clean before new guests. If you have an early arrival, you can drop your bags off at 8 and head out for coffee while we finish getting ready for you.

• Same for departure time: We will be as flexible as possible. We also have secure bag storage so you don’t have to hold onto you bags if you have an evening flight home.

• Redfern is at the southern end of the CBD, so you can have a leisurely stroll right along George St to the Opera House, Circular Quay and the Harbour Bridge, and come back through the Botanic Gardens.

Ministers, atheists, IT professionals, professional skiers, a chandler, artists, social workers, jewellers, accountants, people on their 10th wedding anniversary, 25th wedding anniversary, gay couples, single parents, toddlers, teenagers, film makers, family reunions, old-friend reunions, nurses, builders, retirees taking a whole year off to enjoy each other's company as they travel the world.

Not a bad word from any of them, not a bad word about any of them. The world which comes through our door as hosts makes our hearts soar.

I (Paul) am a psychotherapist which is fascinating in terms of the wonderful clients and staff with whom I work. I spent 12 years as a university lecturer and another 10 doing research on sexuality and gender, having come to academia late after running a manufacturing business, driving trams in Melbourne (a job a STILL have great dreams about!) and a wasted year in a clothing factory after high school. Raymond works as an analyst in the finance and IT sectors, a field he has moved towards since graduating from his communications degree. After his honours year, he spent the best part of the next year backpacking around the world. Every continent covered.... except Antarctica. So that's on our mutual Wishlist - once travel recommences! Meeting guests - especially those visiting Australia - is like having a little holiday without leaving Sydney as we get to hear what their home countries are like. We manage to meet over 80% of our guests to welcome them to town! And this is the best part of being hosts with Airbnb. We have also been really lucky to meet a lot of other local hosts, managers from the San Francisco head office, and the wonderful, warm and friendly staff at the Sydney office. Paul was also asked to speak on the SuperHost panel at the inaugural Airbnb Open in November of 2014 and we both attended the Paris Open in 2015. It was really thrilling to be included with such passionate, professional hosts talking to a huge room full of excited people. We have traveled extensively including staying in hotels, hotels, on the beach, and latterly in Airbnb homes. So we really know what makes for a good stay. It's both a pleasure and an honour to have folks stay at here, especially international guests who are travelling around this lovely country. We have a great apartment, close to the centre of Sydney, available as the entire place for up to four guests. We do not stay when guests are staying - you have the whole apartment to yourselves. Redfern is an original area of Sydney, featuring some of the oldest homes dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Prince Alfred Park is nearby, and the city itself is on the other side of that. You can literally walk to town in under 10 minutes, and it is well supported with public transport to all parts of the city only four blocks from the front door.
