Really enjoyed the space, cleanliness, and the great view! I especially appreciated the windows and veranda that let in tons of light and the high ceilings. The hosts were more than generous and welcoming as well -- waiting for us in the rain and providing extra information before leaving us to our own adventures of Kyoto. The location, as described, is perfect -- walking distance to gion (popular traditional Kyoto streets), and I have to add that if u go up the hill there is a small cafe manned by an old gentleman that serves excellent coffee (it's a very small cafe). There is also a hip but classically moody steakhouse if you go left on shirakawa. Of course there are much much more to see and visit in the wonderful neighborhood and in Kyoto. Highly recommended and I am certain to return here again. Thanks again to the hosts!

The place is very clean, and good for two persons. We received a very welcoming reception, where they showed the apartment to us and gave us a sake bottle. Really nice :) It is far from the Kyoto station, so if you have luggages, get the directions with Mr. Keigo to use the subway (suggestion: as soon as you arrive in Japan buy the Suica card). Once you arrive at the nearest station, you will need to walk a little to get to the place - again, if you have luggages, be prepared, especially if you are going in the summer because it is really hot. The neighborhood is calm and it is near nice places to walk. It is a short distance from a Lawson supermarket, which is simple, but has everything you need. Be aware that there is no dryer in the apartment, the dryer is the room where you take the shower, and you need to use hangers to dry the clothes inside. For jeans it takes more than 12 hours to dry.

This apartment is great! It's spacious, has all the amenities, and a great guidebook on how to use everything/what's in the area. The place is close to almost everything, very accessible by subway and bus, and has a great view of some of the landmarks. We loved staying here and would encourage anyone else looking to stay in Kyoto to see if this apartment is available!

The apartment is exactly as described on the Airbnb website, if not better. Location is great with ease of access to central Kyoto and the many temples in the north of Kyoto. It's an easy walk to the Philosopher's path. We were met on arrival, made welcome and shown how the appliances etc worked. The apartment is clean and well maintained. The local subway station was easy to reach. Communication before our arrival and during our stay was excellent. Overall a professional approach is adopted by Keigo, leading to a five star experience.

The apartment was centrally located (only a short walk to the train station), clean, and nearby to many attractions. My husband, 2 yr old and I stayed in this apartment for 6 days and the space was perfect for us. We used the kitchen for breakfast as most restaurants opened after 11am, luckyly there's a couple of grocery stores close by to get breakfast items. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Keigo's place has everything we could wish for during our 7 day stay. We were on a business trip, so this spacious apartment provided us great working space, and a very comfortable environment. The bus stop is about 3 minutes walk, and the closest subway is 8 minutes away. Sometimes we just walk to the other side of the river for dinner and shopping, which is about 15 minutes or so. Keigo and his friends met us downstairs during our checkin process, and explained how to use everything in the apartment. I'd advise you to take a bath while you are there! Wonderful experience!

I was born and grew up in Kyoto.
My family house has more than 250 years of history, that makes me the 14 th generation.
I usually work as a salary man and spend my free time playing tennis and baseball with my two boys.
As a Kyoto citizen, I would like to introduce to the visitor not only its tourist face, but also a way to cherish the experience of normal living.
Nowadays, although tradition and ancient culture are still considerably remaining in Kyoto, his people life style has extraordinarily modernize.
To welcome our guests and to make them feel also the Japanese traditional atmosphere , in the garden of this building (built in 2015), we used an ancient watter font and a lantern that were originally placed in our home.
