Interaction with guests

I am available to help with questions, directions or suggestions if need be (I've been on island 39 years) but for the most part I feel that most guests want to enjoy their privacy, which this space allows for.

Other things to note

If you are bringing a car to the island during summer months, be sure to book a reservation early at the Steamship Authority website. Apartment is located off Barnes Road, across from the Sailing Camp Park where there is a small public beach on Lagoon Pond. It is a wonderful 5-minute walk down to the Lagoon. Take bus or taxi two miles to downtown Oak Bluffs and the harbor for restaurants, taverns, shopping and nightlife. A short ride from downtown Oak Bluffs to beautiful State Beach on Vineyard Sound (calm waters) or take buses to other Island towns or areas for sightseeing or beach-going. We provide some basic initial refreshments to get you started: coffee & tea w/condiments, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, milk, OJ and a few snacks. I also provide an info book I encourage guests to take a look has house-rules and suggestions for places to go and things to do along with maps & bus schedules.

Donna was a great and gracious host! Her space was beautiful and exactly as described. She went above and beyond, helping with the bus schedules, providing snacks as well as olive oil and garlic to cook the fish we caught! I highly recommend Donna's home and we would go back without hesitation! Jeff & Laura

Donna was the perfect host. Her apartment was just what my fiancé and I needed for our first trip to MV. Donna was prepared for our stay and welcomed us warmly. I most definitely recommend this apartment.

Donna is a terrific host. She's personable and warm. Her communication from the moment I inquired about the place was excellent. Check-in was easy. Donna was on premises and showed me around when I arrived. She left snacks and information about the island and the house for me. The few times I needed to communicate with her, she responded in a timely manner. The place was clean, comfortable, and well-supplied with towels, soap, shampoo, etc. I highly recommend staying here.

My wife and I recently stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The location is great - a very short walk to a bus stop, and a short drive (or bus/Uber/Lyft ride) to Oak Bluffs. We brought our car on-island, but ended up using the public bus system some of the time because of the close proximity of the bus stop to Donna's place and the added benefit of not having to deal with parking when driving to Oak Bluffs (or wherever) during busy times of day. Parking at Donna's place was always easy: there is a dedicated guest spot right beside the house. The roads on the island are "bike-friendly", although not all have dedicated bike lanes. I rode my bike from Donna's place to Chilmark area and back with no problems. It was a very scenic ride and quite enjoyable. The apartment was very clean and quiet. All facilities/appliances worked fine (A/C, shower, kitchen appliances, etc.). We loved having a full private kitchen to work with. Laundry facilities were available, but we didn't end up using them. I also took advantage of the outdoor shower once or twice. Donna was a great host and easy to communicate with. She had a few snacks/cereals for us when we arrived so we at least had some food in the apartment to start out with, which was great. She provided great info about places to go and things to do on the island; I only wish we could have had more time to explore all the places she mentioned. We highly recommend this place. We loved it and look forward to coming back!

I am presently a property manager and bookkeeper and have lived on Martha's Vineyard for 38 years. I love living on the Vineyard especially in the off-season when it's easy to see familiar faces and run into friends you haven't seen all summer because everyone's been so busy! It's so nice to be able to just go to some of the most phenomenally beautiful places on this Island at any time and remember why I live here.
