This is a lovely home and space designed for people to enjoy. The neighbors are quiet with the occasional social gathering for cocktails, but never anything later than 10-11. While we encourage and support you to enjoy however you choose (spirits are welcome), this is not a party house, nor a party neighborhood. While our guests are free to come and go at any hour they choose, we ask that you keep the noise level when present to a minimum past these hours to respect the neighborhood. Thank you

I was traveling with my 11 year old daughter from Costa Rica to Bocas for our summer vacation. Amy is a true concierge checking in on us during our travel towards there bed and breakfast and setting up our tours . Recommending bike rentals upon our arrival, cycling to Paki beach as we were locals ‍️, getting to know Bocas town better also. Dan was always attentive to ask what time we headed out on tours to have breakfast ready for us and actually roasts fresh coffee beans ️and recommends local restaurants to dine . Our room was very comfortable after a long day of activities in the sun. We enjoyed our stay so much because they made it feel secure and pleasant . Un gran Abrazo ! Pura Vida !

When we searched for places to stay at in Bocas, the most important criteria was staying at a safe location, having a private bathroom and a B&B in a charming waterfront location. After reading Saigon Bay B&B description, and looking at the pictures, we thought the B&B met our criteria. As soon as we arrived at the Saigon B&B, we quickly realized that the accommodations were overpriced, not because we were expecting a plush or high end B&B, but because we paid for unusable amenities. For example, we paid for waterfront but the outdoors space did not provide a place to enjoy the water view (the only places to sit were a few wooden bar stools and it appeared that bath water was directly discharged in the bay). The B&B was built on piers on the water. To walk from the street to the building at night was a bit unsafe because there was no light to illuminate the boardwalk until you were near the house when a sensor activated light came on. The boardwalk has no rail. We paid for a private bath, but there was not hot water, again, paid for an amenity that was not useful. As for breakfast, the service or quality was not as good as advertised . We were told that breakfast was between 7 – 9 AM. We went to the kitchen at 8:30 AM, so ready for a good cup of coffee, to find the kitchen completely dark. The coffee was cold and quite a bit of grinds was in the mug.

Thank you for your review Nellie, but I wished you had done so truthfully. We are not only waterfront, the house itself is actually built over the water. So your claim that there is no place to enjoy it is completely Ludacris! There are two outdoor seating areas, one under cover with a cut out over a coral reef to view and the other at the end of the terrace to view the bay, the mountains on the mainland and all the sea creatures that pass while you are here. We have hot water, every shower does. If you by chance did not turn the correct knob as they are opposite here, you should have asked and we could have told you. The kitchen being dark at 8 :30 is also not true. We leave the kitchen light on every night for our guets to see in case someome comes in late or gets up in the night, it is NEVER dark. I personally was up that morning turning off all the outdoor lights, making sure everything was set for when people woke up and started the water kettle for coffee, before you came out. I saw you come out and came down to greet you and make you coffee. Our coffee is prepared for you individually in a french press, fresh and hot. You and your husband sat down on the terrace OUTSIDE, OVER THE WATER WITH THE REEF VIEWABLE BELOW saying it was nice. Yes, it was rainy, but we cannot help that. If you had grounds in your coffee, it was something you did when pouring the french press? There is no railing on the front walkway, but there are no railings on almost all the docks here in Bocas, so that is hardly a negative setback of our place solely. You chatted us up and acted like you loved the place and us during your stay. We asked how things were, how you slept, never once did you tell us if any dislike or problem. The only thing you told us was that you needed better weather, more light for photos. I can handle a bad review and certainly do our part to fix or improve anything if we had done wrong in any way. But these are outright lies, ahame on you

Dan and Amy were incredible hosts, treating us all like members of their household and giving us as much help and guidance as we asked for. The place is just off the beaten path on the water in Saigon Bay, where the sunsets are gorgeous and you can wander through the footpaths like a true local. You also won't be far from a street for an easy cab ride anywhere on the island. Thanks for the hospitality and great memories!
