My family and I stayed here for 1 week in the fall. This was prime leaf peeping season and the leaves were on display the entirety of our stay for 360 degree views from the cottage. The cottage sits right on the edge of the water with plenty of seating indoors and out to enjoy the sunrise, sunset and everything in between. The location is situated between Schoodic and MDI which provides easy access to both Acadia sites. While here, I ran in the MDI marathon and would stay here again if I sign up for it again or if we come back for more vacation time.

Mark was an excellent host, who answered all the questions I had before the trip and gave complete privacy once there.

My mom and I were looking for a nice, quiet, and relaxing cottage to spend a week in before I go back to school. Most importantly, we wanted to bring our 3 dogs. Mark and Kathy were incredibly accommodating and so welcoming and kind whenever we would see them. The minute you turn down the dirt road and pass the yellow flowers surrounding the driveway, you are immediately met with the gorgeous blue waters only feet from the cute and quaint cottage we were lucky enough to stay in. There's enough land for dogs and families with kids to run around and the beautiful convenience of your own private beach. The inside of "Plovers" is exactly what we were looking for and anyone else who wants to spend some quality time with their loved ones, or even a solo trip to relax and recharge. We can't thank Mark and Kathy enough for providing us with one of the best weeks of our lives! Thank you so much to both of you! Sincerely, Sarah Banis

This adorable cottage was the perfect place to spend a few days to relax and unwind. During low tide we could walk out on a sandbar and have a private rock to enjoy a drink and a cool breeze watching the sunset on the bay. The cottage was just as described, it sits back off the road. There was a lobster pot and also kayaks which we used regularly! We loved our stay. The beds were comfortable, it was just a short drive(~30 min) to Acadia/Bar harbor which was perfect. The views from the house were beautiful. Mark the host was super helpful and kind. We had an amazing time!

I thought the place was a little bit of heaven. And our host, Mark, was terrific and available though we didn't need much. The pictures were so nice I was suspicious of being disappointed but I was not. It's a small, clean house with a very pleasant atmosphere. Small, but complete kitchen. No dishwasher. Very useful booklet from Mark describing the area and its highlights. High tide, when the bay comes close to the house is amazing. It's about 45 minutes from bar harbor and Ellsworth is about 1/2 hour or less. There are kayaks we didn't use but the bay is good for kayaking. Internet not perfect. The shoreline is not that walkable but lovely. Great rocks for sitting and reading. A real retreat and the sights and sounds on the water are fascinating and soothing.
