Located in Puerto Rico's rainforest, this Caribbean retreat is ideal for exploration, yoga, and privacy. Bathe in the springs, take a hammock by the waterfalls, enjoy organic fruits, and gather fresh veggies for dinner on an open fire. Welcome home!

The space
This retreat has been set in a century old cabin, located on an ancient Indigenous Taino farm, in the mountains of present day Buena Vista de Las Marias. The land is covered in a shady canopy of bamboo and fruit trees among the jungle. The air is fresh for adventure to explore the many trails throughout the farm. There are two valleys, each lined with natural springs to enjoy a revitalizing bath anytime of day. There are dozens of varieties of tropical fruits and organic vegetables to enjoy raw or cooked over an indoor fireplace. The private room has a queen size comfortable mattress, with organic Egyptian cotton sheets. There are also several hammocks available to take a siesta, anytime of day or night. One of the benefits to being at an elevation above the clouds, is there is a natural air-conditioning system running 24/7 for an irresistible climate. You will understand why we keep extra sheets in the room. The coqui frogs will sing you their notoriously hypnotizing lullaby, leaving you with one of the most unforgettable nights rest.

Guest access
La Finca Cucubana covers over 9 acres, revealing 550 feet of elevation change from the entrance on the mountain ridge, to the river deep in the valley. It is all yours to explore. The farm is bordered by 2 spring fed creeks, so you will know the boundaries when you reach the water in any direction you walk downhill. The neighboring land remains undeveloped, with thousands of acres of pristine rainforest.

Other things to note
This is an off-grid renewable energy powered cabin. You will be happy to know that if necessary, there is plenty of power available for cell phones and laptops. The cabin is equipped with an impressive bluetooth speaker, freezer, refrigerator, and lights to keep the party going as long as the heart desires.

Disclaimer: Electricity in the jungle is a luxury and not guaranteed, although we will do our best to make sure you have power available throughout the length of your stay. Thank you for understanding.

Before arriving at the entrance of the farm, you will pass several quaint homes at the top of the mountain. They are all part of the same family who has lived in these mountains for generations. If you are outgoing and want to make friends with the locals, the neighbors are always playing dominoes at the corner where the farm connects with the main road. Although they are competitive and outspoken, this is there way of having fun as they enjoy each others homemade fruit wines and rums, or an ice cold beer from the sweet lady that owns the store. You can also find canned foods, tylenol, and other miscellaneous products you may need during your stay. Bring groceries for dinner, as the nearest restaurant is an hour by car.

Love and Blessings. My name is Brett. Since the age of 10, I have been intrigued by the indigenous tribes of the Caribbean Sea. I returned to the sea every summer to discover a new country, culture, and always hoping to find a new tribe. I am forever grateful for all the hosts that have welcomed me into their homes. Thank you for making time to travel to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. This island has become my home for many reasons. I look forward to sharing with you the places that made me fall in love. This island might call you back sooner than later.

During your stay
My wife Janira and I live on the farm. It is our pleasure to show you arond the farm, introduce you to the fauna and flora, and help make fire for dinner. If for any reason you would like an adventure, feel free to join us on foot or in the 4x4 Jeep that belongs to the farm. Lolita, an adventures little pup, was raised on the farm. She will make sure you always find your way back home if you follow her down any trails. She will not return home until she is sure you have had a great time on your adventure.
