Spacious, comfortable stone barn conversion with stunning views, private patio and parking situated close to Matlock. A great place to relax & unwind after exploring the Peak National Park. Watch Buzzards soar and the cows graze while the sun sets from the front terrace or cook up a feast on the BBQ. Explore all that the Peak District has to offer - walking, climbing, cycling, wild swimming & water sports at nearby Carsington. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell are all a short drive away.
The space
The Dairy has been tastefully restored & furnished offering a well equipped kitchen/sitting room to unwind after a busy day out. Please note we do not accommodate children or babies. It has a large bedroom with King size bed, the bathroom is up two steps on the half landing with heated towel rail and a walk in over head rain shower. The kitchen/sitting room is upstairs so that you can make the most of the spectacular views. Situated in an idyllic position up a farm track over looking the Derwent Valley in the Peak District. You will relish the peacefulness - however Matlock is only 1 mile away, with plenty of good restaurants, bars, pubs, supermarkets & markets not to mention an array of vintage shops. A stones throw is Matlock Bath 'The Switzerland of Derbyshire' visit the Petrifying well and catch a cable car to the famous Heights of Abraham then walk home from the top taking in more amazing views. Chatsworth House is a short drive away with stunning grounds to explore and fabulous walks, not to mention the house itself. It also hosts International Horse Trials, Country Fairs and Christmas Markets. Haddon Hall is also down the road with it's Tudor hall and Elizabethan gardens a must for you medieval enthusiasts. Robin Hoods Stride and the famous Nine Ladies Stone circle are all but a stones throw from the Dairy - what are you waiting for pack a picnic and off you go.

The Dairy has its own patio at the back of the property with a charcoal BBQ for your use in the summer months. This can be reached by the steps from the kitchen door that lead down to the patio. There is also a table and chairs at the front of the Dairy for you to relax and enjoy the wonderful views . Plenty of parking and space for bikes too.
Other things to note
Property only sleeps 2 and not suitable for children of any age. No pets please, we have 1 friendly dog and 2 cats. Please do not feed them, even when they look at you all doe eyed. Smoking outside only. Washing machine and tumble dryer available on request in our garage just let me know if you want to use it and I can give you the key. You will need your own charcoal for the BBQ and we ask that the grill is cleaned after using and that the used charcoal be placed in the incinerating bin between the two cottages.

Neighbourhood highlights
Matlock has a rich heritage and is located in the Derbyshire Dales within the Derwent Valley. Dale road has many interesting bespoke shops and antiques as well as bars, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Hall Leys Park offers many recreational activities, a weekly market and is a good starting point for many local walks. High Tor is a limestone out crop situated between Matlock and Matlock Bath which towers almost 400 feet above the River Derwent. A network of pathways allows you to explore Matlock and reach the top of the Tor where you can experience panoramic vistas. Matlock has good transport links with both a train and bus station. For the more adventurous kayaks and canoes can be hired locally with guides to take you down the River Derwent. There are many tourist attractions nearby and a series of trails for cycling.
