Jean's house is an open, modern home thats conveniently located in the 18th. He had wine waiting for us, and took care of our every need. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home. Jean had a little champagne waiting for us, and was very warm and receptive. He is a very gracious host and took the extra time and attention that we needed to make sure everything was just right. We would totally recommend this residence. It is best for families that know each other, as the access from one bedroom to the kitchen is through another one, so for unrelated guests there could be some discomfort. It's a fantastic space.

We had a great experience with Jean and this house for a week. We were a family of 7 (my wife and I, three kids ages 10,9 and 5, plus my mother and mother-in-law). As you can imagine it was important to accommodate everyone's personal space, and the house was perfect for that purpose. The pictures are accurate, everything was clean, and for the most part all the appliances, etc worked well. Jean went our of his way to be helpful in booking some local services we requested such as a housecleaner and a car to and from the airport. The neighborhood is fine -- on a quiet side street near Sacre-Coeur. It's not in the heart of the sites one is likely to want to visit, but convenient to three metro lines which made getting too and fro not a problem (which is notable with a 5 year old and two grandmothers in tow). It's an interesting mix of somewhat hipsterish influence and very touristy parts as well. The bottom line is that across the entire party of 7 travelers we had a wide range of travel experience and appetite for adventure, and everyone ended the trip feeling like this house was a great choice for us.

Traveling to Paris with extended family was not an easy feat, but staying in the beautiful oasis that was Jean Marechal's apartment let us all breathe a huge sigh of relief each time we walked through the door. Set right next door to Sacre Coeur, I never would have believed how quiet the house could be. We were all stunned (quite happily) at how peaceful it was to sit in that courtyard with the birds when all around us was a busy neighborhood. The only regret I have staying there was that I wasn't able to stay long enough to cook a few meals in that beautiful kitchen. thank you for sharing your home!

We stayed in this lovely house for 5 days to celebrate our wedding. Jean was very nice and the house is a fantastic oasis in busy Paris. Very central location, with all you need just outside the door. The house was perfect for our celebration, but will also be our first choice at future trips to Paris.

Jean-Marc's wonderful home allowed my family of eight to have an amazing Christmas together in Paris!! About us: 2 grandparents (65+ years); son and daughter-in-law (30-40 years); son, daughter-in-law (30-40 years) and their 2 school-age children (6 and 8 years). We traveled from the US and the UK to meet in Paris for a week-long stay over Christmas. About Jean-Marc and his hospitality: From booking to checkout, Jean-Marc was welcoming, accommodating, flexible and responsive. He went above-and-beyond to keep us happy! He trimmed a Christmas tree for us, provided fire wood, provided two extra beds, left us his large wheeled grocery bag, and stocked his refrigerator with many helpful items to get us started. A very nice touch: he provided a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate. He also allowed me to give the security deposit in US dollars to avoid transaction fees. Plenty of linens were available as well as laundry W&D and dishwasher. The home: Safe, functional and beautiful- on a quiet street in the interior of a compound, surrounded by taller buildings. There is a keypad lock on the street to get into the compound as well as a keyed gate to access the outside of the house and another to access the interior of the house. The common areas of the home are remarkably large, especially considering it is in the city of Paris. The large kitchen and dining room table were perfect for family breakfasts and dinners. Look out for conversation pieces throughout the home! The main level has three bedrooms, one full bathroom w/ shower, one toilet and sink, and one shower and sink. The loft bedroom is cozy cute and adjacent to the full bathroom. A hallway door outside this bathroom allows it to serve as a junior suite. Next to the junior suite is the toilet and sink for the main level. On the other side of the kitchen and laundry room are the shower and sink and two main-floor bedrooms. The bedrooms are connected in series, so getting to the main floor from the more distant bedroom requires traveling through the den/library bedroom. This worked for us, as the kids used the far bedroom and their parents stayed in the adjacent room. The upstairs in the home is a beautiful master suite with a spacious bedroom opening onto the second-floor deck. The upstairs bathroom has two sinks, a large Jacuzzi bathtub, and a tiled shower. The upstairs toilet is in a separate room down the hall. As it was winter and mostly raining during our stay, we did not spend much time on the deck or in the courtyard, but they would be great in nicer weather for meals or relaxing. About the location: A bakery, butcher shop and grocery store are all very convenient to the home. Many wonderful restaurants are nearby. Metro access is convenient via Chateu Rouge or Barbes. Overall: Jean-Marc is a fantastic host, and I would strongly recommend his home for future travelers to Paris!!
