Kitchen with all utilities, crockery and cooking equipment and utensils. Small bordered garden area and a south facing patio for sitting out in, if the sun is shining.
Washing machine and (for small fee) drying machine available for laundering.
Garage available, one bike free for use, can be used to stow away any equipment or bikes (rental bike shops nearby).
All areas other than Host's private office and bedroom.
Interaction with guests
Host will be living in house, but not always there - however available for emergency contact. Will always be able to receive and welcome guests. Full set of instructions, manuals etc. left with guests together with handy local information brochures (sightseeing ideas, excursions, tours etc).
Very quiet residential area on a cul de sac so no through traffic. Close to shops, amenities and bus and train links into City of Edinburgh and further afield. Local village 10 minute walk with lovely traditional atmosphere, cobbled high street and narrow passages affording fabulous views across Forth estuary with its famous road and rail bridges. One of the best 'chippies' and Ice Cream parlours, and also nice selection of old fashioned tearooms, modern bistros with open air balcony and patio areas overlooking estuary, cosy pubs and Italian, Chinese and Indian restaurants.
There is a large selection of characterful local pubs, bars, and restaurants within the local town, and near the river, along with historic buildings, a boating harbour, and superb coastal walks.
Ample parking on private driveway for 2 cars, also safe and secure on street parking and residents / guests parking slots. Local town of South Queensferry a short walk away, buses run very close to house (3 minutes away) and take 30 minutes into Edinburgh, also regular trains running from nearby station (20 minutes walk) taking 15 minutes into city centre.
Other things to note
Excellent frequent bus or private taxi transfers from airport, 15 minutes away (Host can offer collection and drop off at nearest bus alighting point). A popular commuting town for Edinburgh and Fife, it lies close to major road links. Dalmeny rail station provides regular commuting trains, and there are also frequent bus services. Reliable and regular buses and trains into and from city of Edinburgh (15-45 minutes).
No Smoking please, other than in outdoors areas.
