Clean and cozy cabin with wood paneled walls and floors. Located 12 minutes from Ludlow, 15 to Okemo 15 to Killington and 25 to Woodstock, this cabin is in an ideal location for your vacation needs. Surrounded by mountains and lakes and in the heart of the Green Mountains on scenic route 100. Enjoy the place to yourself and cozy up in relaxing Vermont!

The space

With the Green Mountains and Coolidge State Forest coming right up to the back of the house with thousands of acres of wilderness, this is a stunning setting and a great place to spot wildlife and listen to song-birds. Bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, osprey, foxes, herons, loons, moose, bear, wild turkeys, deer are all neighbors! The Black River winds nearby and Money Brook comes down the mountain right beside us. Echo Lake, Rescue Lake, Woodward Reservoir, and Amherst lake are all accessible within 10 minutes of driving.

We have a couple of fire-pits and a well maintained lawn with raspberries and crabapple trees.

Route 100 runs right by the house so in very busy seasons (fall and winter) it can be a little noisy.

We use only all-natural cleaners and try to keep the inside environment non-toxic and full of positive energy. Sheets and bedding have 100% cotton surfaces. We have no pets and keep it clean as we travel a lot and welcome guests to share the space.

Guest access

Laundry in the Basement. Close by Ski areas, lakes, mountains for hiking.

Interaction with guests

We are both locals who grew up in the area and have a wealth of information and ideas for you if you want to chat please let us know we would be happy to meet with you. Usually I will just leave a key for you though and we are happy to stay out of the way as well.

Other things to note

This is a high-altitude country setting so in the summer there can be bugs and in the winter plan accordingly!

Maggie's place is a lovely little retreat and perfectly proportioned. We managed to luck out on the fall colors and really enjoyed our stay. Slightly cold and on a bit of a busy road but much better value than the other airbnbs around. Highly recommended!

Maggie’s house in the mountains of Vermont is a great choice! It’s cozy and well situated in Vermont to be very solitary and still close to some quant New England towns. Maggie left some great recommendations and even checked up about the heat while I was there. Maggie’s place is right off of highway 100, so make sure you get there before dark the first time you arrive; it can be a bit hard to find in the dark if you’re uncertain where to turn off the highway. ;) If you’re looking for a quiet home for some time away in Vermont, you won’t be disappointed!

Maggie's place is a combination of cabin and cottage. Warm and cozy. It's better than perfect. It's comfortable. Cute kitchen for eating in. Stocked with breakfast basics and condiments so we don't have to bring everything. Those that want privacy and not pampering should appreciate what Maggie has to offer. Terrific location. Close to a variety of restaurants, shops and entertainment and the beauty of Vermont surrounds you. I'll be back.

We enjoyed a truly relaxing getaway from the city at Maggie's cabin. The space is cozy and charming. The location is isolated enough to be quiet and peaceful, but a close enough drive to get to points of interest such as hiking, breweries, and restaurants. Maggie responded right away when we contacted her and provided us with great suggestions. We would definitely recommend this spot and would love to stay again!

What a perfect cabin. Beautiful layout, beautifully decorated. Cutist kitchen imaginable. We made dinner the first night from farm stand produce, and ate out the next night. Followed Maggie's advice and had a fabulous breakfast at the Maple Diner. Excellent wi-fi was a nice convenience. We definitely hope to come back again.

Maggie's place is an absolute treasure. From the moment we walked in, we felt instantly at home and at peace in the woods. If you are looking for a private getaway, a cozy cabin feel, and a beautiful slice of Mother Nature, this is it.

What a great place to stay! I'd venture to say the pictures don't even do justice to how nice and low-key the cabin is. If you are looking for a place to get away, look no further; great vibes and beautiful location!

I am a young woman who can't live far from nature. I have travelled all over the world and I am settling back down in Vermont. My favorite place I have traveled is Ecuador; so diverse, exotic, warm, in terms of people and weather, lush, and gorgeous. My life motto is "Fe…
