A three story gem two blocks from la Rambla. The upstairs dining room and lounge are a dream, the space made every day begin and end with a relaxed vibe.

We 4 had a fabulous stay at this beautiful Montevideo home. Silvia was very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. Her tips and help were invaluable. The home has plenty of space both inside and out. It's authentic but very well maintained and extremely well equipped, especially in the kitchen.

Response from Silvia:
Gracias Thomas por tu evaluación. You were very very kind too.

Very neat place, cozy and livable for an extended stay. Pictures online perfectly captured it. Silvia was very helpful and accommodating.

Sylvia's home is fantastic! It was perfect for our 2 week trip to Montevideo. The home is spotless, the kitchen has everything you need and the parilla on the balcony is genius. 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms makes spreading out easy and the upstairs living room is very comfortable. The wifi signal is consistent and strong upstairs, even on the balcony though does not reach the bedrooms downstairs. Each bedroom has a small balcony and gorgeous large windows. The beds, a king and a full, are very comfortable and the bedding was lovely. The house itself is beautiful and reflects Sylvia's skills with art and design. The central staircase can be daunting after a long walk from the ciudad vieja but arriving on the top floor and opening the grand sliding doors makes it all worth while. The washer and dryer are an extra bonus and made our stay more comfortable. There is a well stocked Mercado around the corner with everything one needs and a great meat store up the street. Parc Rodo is around the corner and offers lovely walks and people watching and is very safe. The rambla is a quick walk away and provides miles of walking along the water. There is a shallow beach for swimming or wading. Despite the central location, the neighborhood is overall calm and safe. We visited during the height of Carnival and would hear drumming and music after hours but this was easily solved with a pair of ear plugs which I recommend to all travelers. Sylvia was a superstar, meeting us at her home and giving us keys and resources for our stay. She made herself available by text with any concerns or questions. I highly recommend Sylvia's home and would love to return for a longer stay in Montevideo.

I can"t say enough about the positive experience My family and I had staying in Silvia's beautiful, charming, comfortable home. Silvia was great with communication. We communicated several times via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) prior to our arrival. Silvia checked in with us on our first day to be sure we didn't have any questions and that we were enjoying the space. When we did have a couple of questions, she got back to us within a couple of hours, if not sooner. The house is located in a great neighborhood, close to the beach, to Parque Rodó, to lots of wonderful restaurants and there is a well-stocked market steps away. The only two potential negatives I could mention are that because the house is located in a very vibrant neighborhood, it is noisy at night. If you are a light sleeper, this could be a problem. We always travel with earplugs, which we used and then it was fine. Also, it is a three level house so you must go up and down the steps a lot. If you have any mobility issues, you might want to consider that. You will not find a better house in a active, vibrant neighborhood or a nicer host.

Stayed in Silvia's home for 6 weeks while in Montevideo for work, and my stay was excellent overall. Silvia met me the day I arrived and we chatted about her time living in my home city of Washington DC. She provided a house cleaner once a week for the duration of my stay. The building has tons of charm and warmth (20-ft ceilings, French doors everywhere), and Silvia's sense of artistic style only makes the ambiance even better. My only complaint, which I must mention, is the smell in the kitchen and the bathroom...likely sewer gas from the sink drains, as Uruguay does not appear to employ traps to seal drains, as is common in the US. Only a small inconvenience, but noticeable after six weeks. All in all, an excellent home and an excellent host!

Staying in Silvia's place was probably the best experience I've ever had with Airbnb. The house is beautiful, warm, cozy, and stays in a nice location. Montevideo is awesome and the best place to see it is from Silvia's place :D
