About this listing

The space

Modern, design furniture, very light and bright, huge equipped kitchen, fireplace, great balconies and floating terraces

The houseboat is located 500 meters from the heart of the Jordaan, in the historic center of Amsterdam. The Jordaan is an area full of small restaurants, terraces, fun shops alternating with beautiful canals, small streets and with a variety of wonderful historic buildings. The Jordaan borders on the well-known shopping area the Negen Kleine Straatjes (literally: Nine Little Streets) were you can also find many small shops and cozy restaurants.
Within walking distance you will find highlights like the Anne Frank House, the Westertower, the Dam square, theRoyal Palace and the Amsterdam Historic Museum. The houseboat is easily reachable by car and public transport (see below under “Accessibility”), but once you're here, the easiest means of transportation is by bicycle (see tab “Bicycle rental”).
The houseboat is a 10 minutes walk from the nicest shopping street in Amsterdam (and awarded second best shopping street of the Netherlands 2011): Haarlemmerdijk and about 15 minutes from Central Station or the Leidseplein.
It is a mere 500 meters walk North to the beautiful, and recently fully renovated Westerpark, also known as the “Culture Park” of Amsterdam. In Westerpark you will find a classic Victorian style park section, a large center section for cultural events and a more rugged part with trails for walkers or runners. Centrally located in the park you will find the Espressofabriek with simply the best coffee Amsterdam has to offer. Enjoy a superb breakfast in the nearby Bakkerswinkel. Every Sunday of the month there (email hidden) in the park. If you're looking for something very close to the houseboat, we recommend the Paviljoen.
In summary, a peaceful but central location in a nice neighborhood in Amsterdam.

From the airport you can take a train to central station (20 min). From there you can either walk (20 minutes), take a cab (approximately € 13) or take bus 21 (less than 10 minutes).
To take bus 21. When you arrive at Central Station, exit on the city side (main Exit). Take bus nr 21 and get off after 5 minutes at the stop “van Beuningenplein”. At the other side of the street you will see a large square with a play garden: the “van Beuningenplein”. Take the road left of this square (Tweede Keucheniusstraat) and follow 150 meters to the very end. You are in front of my houseboat!

When you decide to come by car. You can park your car almost always in front of the houseboat. However, Amsterdam is not very “car friendly” as the city charges rather high rates for parking. Alternatively, go to Park and Ride Amsterdam for cheaper parking options. The Park and Ride that is closest to us, is the “P+R Sloterdijk”. The cost for Park and Ride is € 8 per day. They offer return tickets for public transport free of charge.

This was our first time visiting Amsterdam and we had a really great time at Nicole's houseboat. Since we were five people, her place was the best choice for us. It was clean, warm, and convenient. The location was great as well. We also enjoyed the two cute cats that stayed with us. We will definitely visit this place again and I won't hesitate to contact Nicole. Highly recommend this boathouse! ❤️

I have a great pic of Tim with both of them lying on top of him while he watches TV Your address is the perfect location from which to experience the city - we loved every aspect of our visit to Amsterdam. You are highly recommended and when we return to Amsterdam in the future we will definitely rent from you again. With gratitude always, Tim & Torie - CT, USA

Wauv. As soon as we entered the beautiful houseboat we felt at home. Home with the cats, who accepted us from the very beginning. We were introduced by nice friends of the house and everything was just OK. We can recommend this kind of celebrating the holiday. The beautiful living room and kitchen with 2 entrances to the balconies, where the we could enjoy the canal whit the ducks and the swan. Downstairs 2 big sleeping rooms and a big bathroom. The boat is places only a few minutes from the centre and we felt very private, when we were sitting at the balconies. Fantastic. Finally we met Nicole, and she is just such at lovely and kind person, who has so much trust in other people, that it makes us wanna take care of her private home. Off course we can recommend this houseboat of Nicole.

Nicole's houseboat was great. It was on a quiet canal, just outside of the center with a large terrace in the front and back of the house. The houseboat was clean, well kept and very enjoyable. She even has a really cool, social cat that likes to hang out with people.

On our late arrival, Nicole kindly welcomed us. She showed us her lovely houseboat. We felt more than welcomed. The place was very clean, warm and a fire was slowly going on in the cheminey. Towels on every bed and fresh flowers all over the place. Well decorated with taste, a lot of living space, practical, with everything you need and more. Huge windows with a lot of light and a calm view on the water. So relaxing. We had snow, rain and sun and really enjoyed every seconds. 10 minutes to Central station, close to some shops and supermarkets. Thanks Nicole, you're a great and a very generous person, and your place looks like you. When we come back to Amsterdam, you will be our first choice. Not forgetting your lovely lazy cats....

I like everything that has to do with water, to live on it but also kitesurfing, wakeboarding, stand up paddling and sailing. Also a big fan of wintersports.
