We were 3 families staying together, 12 of us including children between 9 and 16. We loved the place! 6 bedrooms 12 beds 3 showers 4 toilets meant we all fitted in very easily. All the bedrooms are spacious. We spoke nicely to the housekeeper and we were allowed to move a bed between rooms to suit our needs. The house is built for sharing and being hospitable. All we needed was there: enough pots and pans to cook for an army, microwave, 2 ovens, 2 filter coffee machines, 2 stove top coffee thingies, teapots, large fridge and separate freezer, the works. Plus a few staples to get you going (salt and pepper etc). We used the wonderful swimming pool every day - sometimes was warmer in the pool than out! Pool table, table tennis, boules, badminton, table football and about 8 bikes... Decent TV, and Bluetooth audio system, at least 2 places to sit 12 people for a meal, one inside one outside. We enjoyed it so much we only made one day trip (to Dijon, an hour away). It's in a sleepy village and there are great views across across the valley, and some dramatic sunsets and lots of stars visible in the very dark night sky. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Bruce, who gave a bit of the history of the place, which only added to its charm. Supermarkets are very pleasant drive away and lots of space to store everything you buy. All 12 of us have no hesitation in recommending this place.

We enjoyed our time in Marcilly- Ogny. The house was perfect. We loved the space, the many kitchenware, the beautiful garden, the swimming pool and the beautiful view of nature. This house is perfect to relax, but also perfect to go on some trips to Dijon or Beaune. We'd recommend this house to everybody who loves the quietness of nature. The communication with the housekeeper went very well!

Everything was brilliant! Fantastic house, amenities, games, the pool, the balcony, the wonderful sunsets, the pretty village. All great. There were 12 of us staying at the house for our son's wedding in a nearby village. So, that's 12 of us (Plus 2 friends who cycled in from Paris and used the showers) all trying to get ready at once. Plenty of room, bathrooms, iron and ironing board for us to all leave the house on time. Donna the housekeeper met us at the house at our convenience and also checked us out at a time that suited us. Thanks!!

Retired English businessman, I bought Ancien Resto in 2003 and furnished it as a retreat for my 5 games-and-fun-loving offspring. I added Maison Verte in 2015 as a smaller Gite in the middle of the Ouche Valley.

I spend a large proportion of the year travelling and discovering new places, either backpacking or by bicycle (I've twice cycled to Greece from London)...but always leave time to spend in Burgundy.

I love sharing the houses with groups of people - families or stag-weekenders - who will appreciate the house and everything that the Burgundy countryside has to offer.

I hope everybody shares my motto ...
