Great check-in experience

Some info has been automatically translated.
Spacious riverside cottage 2 miles outside Crieff, stunning south facing and decked balcony over the river. Situated within the grounds of Victorian private house. Recently refurbished with spectacular views across fields. Includes 1800cm superking bed, bath and shower.
Perfectly situated for exploring and only 10/20 mins from the only two 2* Michelin restaurants in Scotland.
We now also have an outside bath house in the garden where you can lie back and enjoy the views beside the river.

The space
The exceptional situation of this cottage with balcony and decking over the river, makes it perfect for retreats with only the sound of the bubbling river to lull you to sleep. Within it's own fenced off area it is quiet and peaceful. It has the appearance of a typical New England clapperboard house. There are extensive views across fields to the hills beyond.
Please note that the path down to the cottage is very rustic and uneven so is probably not suitable for people with limited mobility and there is no hand rail.
Stylishly decorated with slate and wooden floors including underfloor heating and a fireplace with plenty of logs supplied. It is full of interesting paintings, prints and books. Excellent fibre broadband included and Sky Glass Tv.
Wonderful outside bath too…please see photos.

The cottage is available to rent for a minimum of 2 nights.
Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is before midday. If you wish to arrange other times then please contact us in advance.
We also have another cottage amongst the farm buildings which would be perfect if you wish to share the balcony and river view with a couple of friends...but still have the privacy of your own spaces See ‘cosy country cottage’ or ‘cosy riverside cabin’.

Guest access
Fishing on the nearby river can be arranged through the Crieff Angling Club and we also have a small part of the river where you may fish. Check-in is available from 4pm and we can arrange later times if you let us know in advance. ‘Cosy Country Cottage’ and the ‘riverside cabin’ also available nearby if you wish to visit with friends.

Other things to note
The cottage is situated below the farm steading and is reached by a stoney path, probably not suitable for stiletto shoes!
There is no public transport apart from a school bus twice a day during the week. Crieff is approximately a two miles away.

There is a Beauty Room based in the farm buildings offering various therapies …facials, manicures, pedicures, massages, reflexology etc. there is only the one therapist who is very popular so she needs to booked in advance. This can be done via her Insta The BeautyRoomCrieff.

Neighbourhood highlights

Our farm is situated on the banks of the River Earn and Strathearn is renowned for it's spectacular scenery. Crieff is the bustling local town with numerous coffee shops and beautiful McCrosty Park. The oldest lending library in Scotland Innerpeffray Library is only a mile along the road. Glenturret Distillery is just over 2 miles away and Drummond Castle and it's stunning gardens are only a 1 mile outside of Crieff. There are many golf courses within a short distance including Gleneagles, Muthill, Comrie and St Fillans. (St Andrews is just over an hour away).

There are some excellent restaurants in the area including Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles, The Barley Bree in Muthill, Craobh and Delvinnos in Crieff. G’s Bistro is thoroughly recommended in the High Street in Crieff and a new favourite. We also have Glenturret Distillery in Crieff with the new Lalique restaurant (Michelin starred chef) offering an incredible tasting menu for dinner they also do a champagne tea and a bar lunch along with whiskey tasting. The well known farm shop/cafe at Gloagburn is about 20mins away along the valley. Approx 40mins away along the Earn side road and past the banks of Lochearn you will find Mhor 84 which is a fantastic all day cafe/restaurant serving food all day with homemade cakes/bread etc. We are particularly keen on food and cooking and would love to give any advice on best places to eat/buy food etc. Crieff also has one of the best Fish Shops in Scotland 'Fish in Crieff' selling hake/turbot/razor clams/mussels/crab/tuna etc.
We are also lucky that the new Crieff Food Hall has recently opened in the High Street selling top quality ingredients, delicious home made recipes to take home and heat up and also a coffee shop/cafe downstairs.

Lives in United Kingdom
I was brought up in Hampshire and lived in London and Paris working in the interior design and fashion world before moving to Perthshire with my husband to bring up our children on the family farm. We love our animals, horses, dogs, enjoy all food and cooking, galleries/fashion and cinema/TV Mad Men/Homeland/Wolf Hall. Thoroughly enjoy hosting in the cottage and seeing how much our guests appreciate our efforts to make it the very special space that it is.
