The cottage is situated in the heart of Bourbon country. It was built in 1790 and was used as the original coppersmith' s shop, a place of business where the first Bourbon stills were forged. The location is in the center of our beautiful town and is within walking distance of nightlife, restaurants, shopping, and historic sites.
The cottage has a garden from which to enjoy morning coffee or evening cocktails. Inside, the surroundings will be sure to delight. I look forward to welcoming you.

The space

The nature of an old structure is interesting in itself. I have carefully updated the cottage while keeping the integrity of the original workplace.

Luxury is feeling comfortable. Not only comfortable, but cuddled.

Guest access

You will have full access to the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living room/dining room.

Interaction with guests

I prefer to greet my guests and introduce them to their cottage. I am always available to answer any questions should they arise during your stay, and before. Please do not hesitate to inquire.

Other things to note

If you desire a meal in the home, I can certainly provide one that is tailored to your taste. Steakhouse fare, Creole cuisine, or Uncle Spoony's fried chicken. Check out some sample menus in the House Manual section.

If you would like a driver, I would be happy to shuttle you around the back roads of Bourbon Country.

I delight in my guests having a most wonderful visit.

Kandice is a lovely host, very friendly, kind and communicates very well. The location, although near the main Street has a bit of a "back alley" feel and being behind the market makes it not so quiet early morning and overall a bit exposed (for the garden area or even leaving lower level floors windows open). The house is quirky, some people will like it a lot some might not (our group was split). This can be a fantastic place depending on what you are looking for.

WOW... what a place!! Candice was there to welcome us in to her wonderful home. It is truly beautiful!! And right in the heart of Bardstown so dinners were a lovely stroll! Saw fireflies which we had never seen before out and about! There is a wonderful outdoor space, that is perfect for sitting and enjoying a drink (make sure you have plenty of mozzie spray on as is expected!) and we spent a lot of our time out there. I can't recommend Kandice's house enough, upon arrival we were greeted with a rather tasty Old Fashioned, and home baked cookies, and the next morning, freshly (and the BEST) scones for breakfast. Truly marvellous. There is a good chance I will be back for more work, and I will deffo be returning to Kandices. The house is quirky, homely and just simply felt like home. Also - go Lazy river Tubing in the next town. Its the best! Thank you Kandice for everything xx

Kandice's place is awesome! The perfect blend of modern comfort and old charm. In the middle of local shops and taverns this is the perfect location. We don't make it to Bardstown often but will try to book again when we do.

My gosh! This was the cutest place that I've ever stayed! The location can't be beat, it walking distance to everything. The house was so cool and Kandice made sure we had everything that we needed, she even made us an appointment at the Willet Distillery (last open spot of the day). I really love the decor and the hospitality can't be beat. I'm kicking myself for not ordering dinner from her, I'm sure it's amazing. Thanks, Kandice!

Kandice was a gracious host. The home is BEAUTIFUL and has a history - we love homes that tell a story... Great location within walking distance from coffee, restaurants and local taverns. It was a perfect place to begin our weekend getaway. We stayed with another couple and the accommodations were perfect for 4. The upstairs loft/bedroom is private and the master suite has a small antique tub that was perfect for a soak at the end of the day. There is an outdoor patio that has a nice fire ring - we didn't have nearly enough time to enjoy all of the amenities. The complimentary morning scones were to die for! Kandice made us feel right at home.

The Coppersmith Inn is incredibly unique and lovely. Staying there was a pleasure because of the wonderful ambiance lended to it by its rich history. Comfortably appointed and thoroughly modern, it's an ideal location for a couple or small family to rest and relax. The large outside patio was a treat. As was the bathtub! It is located right in thick of all things Bardstown, within walking distance to restaurants and bars. And Mrs. Kandice is a host extraordinaire. Unbelievably quick to answer any and all questions, as well as kind touches like baking us cookies, leaving us a baguette and dinner plate, she represents all the perks of choosing airbnb over a hotel.

We had a great time staying at the Old Coppersmith! Kandice was an AMAZING host and tour guide! Her place was so nice and clean and in a great location. We came to Bardstown to visit different distilleries and Kandice was instrumental in helping us plan the trip. Not only did she help us map out which distilleries to visit she was also our tour guide on Saturday. She drove us around and took us to a nice mix of big and small distilleries. This was so much more fun than going with a tour company. We can not speak more highly of her or her place!

I have been charmed throughout my travels to have met many great locals. From New Orleans to France where I attended Le Cordon Bleu I gained an appreciation for a delight in the senses, all of them. I try to maintain that simple sense of passion in my home. In destinations, great…
