Welcome to the crossroads of hip Bed-Stuy and beautiful Clinton Hill! This 3-bdrm townhouse is an oasis after a day of exploring the city. With cozy beds, clever design details, and an incredible kitchen, this is a terrific home-base for travelers.

The space

A warm and comfortable home with personalized touches everywhere! Rustic and welcoming with vintage fixtures, remodeled bathrooms, all-new kitchen equipment, and newly renovated kitchen extension that is perfect for enjoying morning sun with a coffee and the paper.

On the first floor you will find the living room, kitchen, half bath, and library nook. The living room has an oversized daybed that is also a sleeping option, about the size of a full mattress, sleeps two. There is a large flat-screen TV hidden from view in the pictures. It is on wheels and is easily moved into the large opening of the living room, fills the width of the entryway. Great for lounging on the daybed and watching a movie or your favorite program. Stays out of sight when you don't need it!

Off of the living room you will find a special space, the library nook, with plenty of books for you to enjoy.

The kitchen is equipped with all new appliances, including a Bertazzoni stove! Stocked with all the utensils you need for cooking and plenty of space for more than one cook in the kitchen. The dining area is a new addition to the original structure of the home, surrounded by windows, letting in terrific natural light and a great breeze when the windows are open. There is also plenty of space here for stretching or practicing yoga.

Upstairs you will find the three bedrooms and two full baths. Each bedroom has a new air conditioning unit to cool down the rooms for sleeping on hot summer nights. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and private bath with terrific tiled shower, great for steaming up on a cold winter day! The other two bedrooms each have a twin size bed. There is a full bath at the end of the hall with shower and tub.

Guest access

You will have access to the house through the front door. There is a garden level apartment that has a separate private entrance. Currently, access to the backyard is off limits due to some remodeling and enhancements.

Please remove your shoes upon entering the house. This helps to keep the floors and rugs in good shape, and who wants to where shoes inside anyway?

No pets, please. Thanks.

Feel free to open up all the windows on the first floor when you are home. The breeze through the living room and kitchen is delightful. When you leave, please be sure to close up and lock the windows. Please also draw the blinds in the living room before you go out.

In the summer months, when using the air conditioners, please do so with an energy-conserving mindset. The window units are just for cooling down the bedrooms, please close the bedroom doors when air conditioning units are in use.

In the winter months, when using the wood burning stoves, please be alert and very cautious. Be careful and tidy with the wood and ash. If you are not comfortable using a wood-burning stove, please do not use them.

The house was absolutely perfect for our group. It was funky and interesting and we enjoyed the little quirks sprinkled throughout the home. The neighborhood was so convenient - there was a market and great restaurants super close by.

Sean's urban cabin is homey, yet modern, and eccentric, yet very well-appointed. The space makes you feel like it could house members of a very sophisticated artists' collective or a progressive family. Guests will enjoy the commercial-grade kitchen appliances and advanced bathroom fixtures! Sean was very communicative and available to us, for any feedback needed, throughout our stay. The neighborhood offers some delicious food (do not miss Puerto Viejo!) and drink (we did not get to try Berg'n, but hope to on a future trip!). Brooklyn Botanic Gardens/ Prospect Park is a healthy 20 min walk away from the house and totally worth the trip!

We were so lucky to have found Sean's home. It's such a unique, wonderful space - a creative oasis in the heart of Brooklyn. Just as beautiful as pictured; maybe more so. Both Sean and Pia could not have been more welcoming. Highly recommended.

I’ve lived in NYC since college (The New School for Social Research, class of 1994) and came here with one goal: to become a writer. To me this was the single city in America where literature and art were valued above all else. And it was a place full of unconventional real estate. Downtown Lofts, Lower East Side walkup—the way people lived was an extension of the creative existence. I lived on an old passenger ferryboat at the end of N. Moore Street in Tribeca. But eventually (like most every writer or artist) I migrated across the water and into Brooklyn. I also had kids. What I love about Brooklyn, and this part of it in particular, is that Bohemia and creativity are still alive, and there’s a Waldorf school right across the street.
