About this listing
Artists Haven in Brooklyn's pride and joy: Bushwick. Home and studio with an open floor plan, and movable furniture. Graffitti murals cover the outside walls of our big yard, where you can host dinner or BBQ under our gargantuan tree and night sky.
This open floor plan has space to entertain and space to relax. An elevated bed platform create added dimension to the space. Direct entry to the private yard (as big as the apartment itself) make for a light and comfortable space. The kitchen has plenty of countertop space and all the traditional amenities, cutlery and much more. There is a full bathroom with tub, and an empty closet for you to hang your clothing.
What you need to know is that the semi-enclosed platform is the bedroom - it is slightly raised by a step and there is no door on the space. We took the wall out to open up the space. The queen bed folds down off the black wall - we will leave it down for your convenience.
The "couch" pulls out to a twin bed and is actually a trundle - with another twin mattress under. (be careful not to put too much weight on top of the black backrest)
There is a table that can be setup indoors or out with seating for 8 stools. I entertain here all the time and it works really well. The table top must come back inside or it will be ruined by the weather.
This is a true NY style apartment. Small - but with moveable/adjustable/multifunctional spaces.
Only thing I ask is - if there is incident with the upholstered chairs - you call me to walk you through the cleaning - rather than me trying to fix it after the fact and it coming out of your security deposit ; ) and if anything isn't working please contact me first. Thanks!
The whole space is yours.
Interaction with guests
Happy to help you get to know the area with a phone call or text at any point. The neighbors are all super nice and friendly and will happily direct when asked.
I will be a few blocks away - and my neighbor on the first floor and I share this space. So while they are there if you have an emergency - or to notify me if anything seems "off" - I am your point of contact. We are all pretty easy going - but we want to make sure everyone is respectful.
The Mexican restaurant next door is awesome: La Lupe, Lil' Skips is the coolest coffee joint in the area and only a couple blocks away. Basically - you can't go wrong. If you want real Brooklyn but still plan on being in the city... This is it.
Half block from the JMZ line and a few minutes walk to the L or G this location is AAAAmazing! It takes 15 min to get to the Lower East Side or Soho / Nolita and the train lines transfer to everything else from the Broadway Lafayette stop.
No smoking indoors. Clean up your butts if you smoke outside.
Dogs only if you are willing to clean up on them and they stay off the furniture. There is an extra deposit. NO CATS! Other animals upon request.
Any planned SMALL parties must be run by me in advance so that I can inform neighbors (got to keep everyone happy).
Pretty much expecting you to live here like it is your own home. With the exception of going through all the drawers and cabinets - everything you could need is out except for in the kitchen where you have unlimited access to the utensils and so fourth. Treat it like you care - because I do! If you leave it like you found it your security deposit will still be yours! Thanks
Yoga, art, love & travel are my culture and home is my sanctuary. New York is my favorite place to live. Being outside skiing, hiking, running, (URL HIDDEN) a must. So when I can't be outside I relish a bit of natural elements inside - raw wood & plush textures.
Design is important - so my place in Bushwick is classy and hip with a connection to the local culture. I would define it as 20-40 somethings - well traveled - in art, design or fashion - with a taste for good food and up and coming scenes.
