About this listing
A simple space (approx. 5'x8') separated by curtain from the kitchen, with a twin bed and space beneath it for your luggage. Access to our kitchen and living room, too. Perfect for the out-and-about traveler! 40 minutes by train to O'Hare airport, 15 to downtown.
Although the sleeping area itself is small (5'x8'), our living room area is comfortable and welcome to our guests. We also use this space so please make yourself at home but respect our privacy, too! Feel free to use the kitchen to prepare any meals and the fridge to store any foodstuffs, just be sure to clean up after yourself. We do live off of a main road that can be noisy at night; we provide earplugs for our guests, as well as a fan that helps with white noise.
The guests will have access to the common area in our apartment and use of the kitchen and bathroom.
You will have your own key and will be able to come and go as you please; there is no curfew, but please do respect us and our neighbors by keeping your night noise to a minimum.
Interaction with guests
We are both fairly busy and gone a lot, but would be happy to chat with you when we are home and unoccupied!
We live off of a main road in between three awesome neighborhoods--Wicker Park, Humboldt Park, and Bucktown. There are a variety of fun parks, bars, and coffee shops in all of these neighborhoods that are within walking distance! The 606 is a 2.7 mile elevated running/walking trail located just down the street.
We are located about a five minute walk south of the Western blue line which provides easy access to downtown and O'Hare. We are also very close to two main bus lines that can take you east to the beach or further north if you want to check out the north side of Chicago!
Guests are welcome to drink responsibly and smoke on the front porch outside, but please be respectful of the property and our neighbors!
Please do not bring unauthorized guests with you into our home without first confirming with us.
Please lock the deadbolts on both the front and the top-of-the-stair doors when coming and going.
We like to recycle as much as possible so please dispose of all metal cans, glass, paper and plastic in the kitchen's white bin. All other waste can go in the black bin.
Hello there! We're childhood friends who now do life together–more or less like family. We've found that we share space well with each another, and we'd really enjoy the chance to have you join us. We're introverts from big families; we can both enthusiastically engage and reservedly respect you and your privacy–just let us know. We both have busy schedules, but are definitely homebodies and love having others around when we're occupying the nest, even if we might not be the chattiest!
