It's not in a touristy area. Laid back, beach is quiet and clean. People are very helpful and friendly. And the town is modest, yet clean. It shows a lot about the integrity of residents.

Not really, you need a car.

This rental is the second story of a two story house, two beds, two baths. The small public beach is a pleasant five-minute walk. Loiza is a fantastic place with some of the friendliest people I've ever met. We went to a neighborhood block party where everyone was selling their delicious $2 pinchos and saw some bomba. Great house, great trip.

Tony was extremely welcoming and was prepared for us at 6 AM when we came into town. We were so thankful for him during our stay and he truly made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet Lola, but maybe next time! The dogs were also great hosts! The listing was just as described and we were very happy about it. Great location! Perfect for seeing El Yunque, going to San Juan, and lots of surrounding beaches. I would recommend this stay for anyone that wants a true Puerto Rican experience. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to PR!

I traveled to Puerto Rico, along with two friends, and stayed at the casa for 4 nights. We had an wonderful experience. Communication with Tony was great, the accommodations were as described, and the location perfect for our trip. The home was clean, comfortable and a great base for our daily adventures as it is centrally located from quite a few things (San Juan, El Yunque, Fajardo). It is a tropical climate and right by the ocean, so there is sand and humidity as you might expect in a home by the ocean. No AC, but the fans and ocean breeze equaled excellent sleeping temperatures. If felt like a home (not a hotel), which exactly why we use Airbnb. The beach really is a 2-3 minute walk and the perfect place to start and end the day. We would take our beach blanket and a bottle of wine and spend the evening taking in the colors of the sunset and watching the stars appear. Often we had the beach completely to ourselves. We loved the neighborhood. It was friendly and felt very safe. We did not experience any loud "people noise", only the sound of the animals (chickens, horses, dogs). Tony is a lovely person and I really enjoyed conversation with him- kindred spirit. We plan on staying here again when we return.

Thank you Kari for your comments. This experience has allowed us to share a piece of PR that most don't get to experience. While everyone's is not the same, I'm delighted to hear yours was great. Till next time, and a discount is on us for returning adventurers.

We have come to Puerto Rico many times, and this is our second time at this beautiful casita and we LOVE it. It's peaceful, it's local, it's right next to a beautiful warm beach, it's near amazing attractions and local food. We will be coming back here again and again as we believe this is the best spot in Puerto Rico. You're guaranteed to have an authentic experience. Plus, the hosts are extremely friendly and lovable people. What's more to ask for? We are 1000% satisfied and are grateful that you opened your house to visitors. Thank you so much for having us a second time, and we'll sure be seeing you again, very soon!

We absolutely loved staying at this rental! It was really comfortable for two couples, Tony was the most welcoming and accommodating host we could have asked for (as was BamBam the dog) and Tiffany was very communicative and sweet. Everyone in the neighborhood was great and the rental was in the perfect location for us to explore different parts of the island. The local beach at the end of the street was pristine and almost empty every time we were there. We will definitely be back next year!

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this apartment on the 2nd floor above Tiffany's father-in-law's apartment and it was OK. The apartment is indeed very close (5 minute walk) to a small beach, which was the main selling point for us, but the neighborhood left much to be desired. It's in a very typical local-Puerto-Rican town that has been left run-down and deserted, so there were a lot of locals walking around the streets at all times of the day and night, but no restaurants open for dinner within a 15 minute drive. This is not really a place that you come to visit to experience the town as there is really not much going on here, but rather a place you can sleep, walk to the beach, cook food at the apartment, and spend the rest of your time driving at least 30 minutes to do anything else. We also found the apartment generally run down, out-date and a little dirty, although this does seem to be the case for most apartments we experienced in Puerto Rico. When we arrived, we had to sweep the floors that had already accumulated quite a bit of dirt, clean off the kitchen counter & coffee table, wipe down surfaces, wash the dishes we wanted to use, change the sheets, and find an additional towel as only 1 had been left out for the 2 of us. The futon in the living room was unfortunately extremely uncomfortable to sit on, so we didn't spend much time there relaxing (opt instead for the beach or the chairs on the porch). On the other hand, the bed in the master bedroom was quite comfortable, the shower/bath was clean & I thoroughly enjoyed taking a salt bath, and the breeze through the house was refreshing (there's no AC). I would also note that of our week on the island, we received more mosquito bites here than anywhere else and while the host graciously provided some citronella candles, it didn't seem to ward off the mosquitos at all, which were freely entering the apartment through the open front & back doors (you can close the doors, but it would get way too hot). Some other reviews mention a loud bar across the street, but it's worth noting that we found the apartment very quiet for all 3 weekend nights we stayed and never experienced noise from any bar nearby. The only noises we heard were children playing nearby during the day. We slept very well! Finally, our host Tony who checked us in and gave us the key was a nice guy and Tiffany always responded to my questions right away and provided us with good directions to the house.

Hi Carlee, From your review it sounds like you were unhappy with your stay, I apologize that we did not meet your standards. Tony works very hard to up keep the place, but may have missed a few things with such a short turn over. I appreciate your detailed report and will take all your suggestions to improve conditions into consideration.

This apartment was perfect for my trip to Puerto Rico. Tony and Lola were very friendly and welcoming. The apartment is very spacious and the fans kept it pretty comfortable. The local bar is loud so I recommend bringing ear plugs. The beach that is walking distance from the apartment was really wonderful. I had a great stay!
